About the Royal Horticultural Society
The Royal Horticultural Society was founded in 1800 by John Wedgewood, with the purpose of organising small gatherings so that horticultural fanatics could share findings, article and research on their horticultural activities, to encourage discussion and publishing. It took four years to organise the first meeting, which was attended by several well known characters in society at the time such as the Superintendent of the gardens of St. James's Palace and Kensington Palace.

It is today the United Kingdom's largest leading gardening charity, with a central emphasis on spreading and encouraging horticulture in the development of its science, art and practise. The field of horticulture focuses on a certain division of agriculture, which devotes its work to the technology, the study, the business, and also the artistic side of growing plants. Horticulture is promoted by this charity through unique flower shows such as the Chelsea Flower Show, Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, Tatton Park Flower Show and Cardiff Flower Show. In addition to sharing the creative employment of nature, the Royal Horticultural Society also support the training and development of professional and amateur gardeners.

Customer Services
In order to benefit from the gardens and educative resources of the Royal Horticultural Society you can become a member. There are six different types of memberships, four of which are annual and two of which are for life. Firstly the annual Individual deal allows entry to the RHS gardens for 1 member + 1 family guest or 2 children, as well as entry to the Partner Garden for 1 member. Alternatively, the Joint membership offers entry to the RHS gardens for 2 members, 1 family guest and up to 4 children, as well as access to the Partner Garden for the main cardholder. Though both of these deals can be bought as gifts, there is also 1 membership which is perfectly constructed to be bought as a gift for someone else as the annual deal offers RHS gardens entry for 1 member + 1 family guest as well as Partner Garden access for 1 member. This gift membership arrives in luxury packaging whilst also containing several small gifts such as postcards and flower seeds. The final annual membership is for students, which has the benefits of various study deals as well as garden access. Finally, the two life membership offers are the regular Lifetime membership and the Senior Life, both of which offer unlimited benefits for life and the Senior option applies only for those over 60 years of age.
