    About Airfix

Founded in 1939, by Nicholas Kove, a refugee from Hungary that originally manufactured rubber inflated toys. The name Airfix was adopted considering the process involved in fixing air into products. According to Kove, ‘all successful companies should have their names at the beginning of business directories’ and thus the name Airfix was given birth to. Airfix is the oldest producer of scale plastic model kits in the UK. The company produces an assortment of plastic kit models aimed at all kinds of scale modellers with such subjects as military aircraft, civil aircraft, ships, galleons, cars, space, figures, dioramas and military vehicles etcetera.
