About Alice’s Pig
Alice’s Pig is named after the great aunt of the founders. This quirky aunt, Alice, was a stylish and adventurous traveller. The founders remember her travel stories, and how stylish she looked no matter where she was.
The founders, Amanda and Nico, describe her look as one of contrast, thanks to her unique blend of elements. They also note that Alice put effort into her look, searching exhaustively for the most unique and distinguishing clothes. At least, that’s what Nico and Amanda thought. It eventually became clear that Alice made all of her clothes herself. Alice’s Pig continues her legacy by selling extraordinary fashion.
Like Alice, Alice’s Pig designs all of its clothing from scratch. As a vintage shop, Alice’s Pig takes its South-London roots very seriously. Its clothes are therefore characteristically British. In addition, Alice’s Pig is as a vintage store opposed to the idea of fast fashion. Instead, it believes that fashion can last. Accordingly, the shop uses fabrics that are sustainable and can last for many generations.
All of the hand-picked and tested fabrics come from ethical sources. In other words, you do not have to be afraid that your clothing was made by children in a sweatshop. After clothes are designed, they are test-worn by fashion-conscious women.
Alice’s Pig is committed to maintaining a small-scale operation in order to safeguard the quality of its products. Therefore, only 80 styles are created per year. This is meant to prevent the styles from becoming generic and uninspiring.
