Bally is a luxury fashion brand that was founded in 1851, Switzerland. It originally started out making elastic ribbon, before its founders Carl and Fritz Bally decided to expand the business to shoe production, after seeing the potential at a Parisian factory. After several re-brandings in the late 19th century, the brand began to grow quickly, in the hands of the founders sons. They opened their first international stores in Uruguay, Argentina, Paris and London the 1870s and 80s. They were also one of the first companies to move into the Chinese market after it has opened up in 1880, which they did again in the 1980s. Skip forward to the late 20th century, and Bally has expanded into clothing, handbags, leather wear for both men and women, and are a global brand. They are still headquartered in Switzerland, and are owned by JAB Holdings. Bally shoewear has also been part of several iconic, events such as being worn to win Olympic medals, being the first boots to reach the top of Mount Everest in the Himalayas.

Though that have expanded from their roots, they still list shoes as the first product on their website selection. Their luxury fashion items can be browsed along the lines of men and women, and different styles within shoes, bags, accessories and ''ready to wear" (jackets, bottoms and tops). They also offer products in collections, such as the July Edit, Look Books, Summer and Spring sets, and gift suggestions ‘For Him’ or ‘For Her’’. Their website also runs a fashion journal and a campaign page, which are their two locations for posting about new collections, trends in fashion and collaborations with artists, such as the recent launch of their recent hip-hop collaboration called Bally Collective curated by Swizz Beatz, which was attended by A$ap Rocky, and Alicia Keys amongst others.
In additions to their collections of products, there a section called Made to Order, where customers can order bespoke design, combining Bally’s luxury selection of designs, colours and materials. This can be supported by a trip to a Bally workshop to have a look at the site of the quality craftsmanship that will go into their product.
