About Kates Skates

Founded in 1997, Kates Skates began as a small skate shop linked to a skate park in Barrow-In-Furness, Cumbria. Their aim was to provide the local community with quality skate products that were affordable. Expanding from their inline and ice skate routes, Kates Skates can now be seen dominating the skating scene nationwide. Still based in Cumbria, the retailer has grown to become a mail order specialist selling a broad range of skating goods with over 15 years experience.


Services offered by Kate’s Skates

The online platform offers multiple different departments to shop from including footwear, clothing, accessories, skates, skateboards, scooters, BMX and Heelys. The footwear department stocks skate shoes, casual shoes, BMX/snowshoes, sandals, flip-flops, slippers and laces. Over 800 skate shoes are available from all the top skate brands such as Vans, New Balance, Etnies, and DC – providing durable shoes for action sports. Casual shoes offer a comfortable shoe for everyday wear, also made by big name brands. BMXand snowshoes again offer a more substantial build of shoe for more testing environments and activities. A good example of this would be the Osiris Peril shoe. In contrasts to their hardwearing shoes, Kate’s Skates also sell flip-flops for the warmer weather from brands such as Volcom and Ripcurl. A few children’s slippers can also be found online. A huge selection of clothing is for sale on the Kate’s Skates website covering t-shirts, denim jeans, hoodies and sweatshirts, jackets, shorts, shorts and polo tops, hats, beanies, underwear, swimwear, dresses and skirts. Accessories include backpacks, badges and patches, belts, books and magazines, headphones, iPhone covers, jewellery, key rings and lanyards, stickers and posters, sunglasses, ties, toys, wallets, watches and wristbands. Skates are categorised into quads, Roller Derby, inline recreational, inline fitness, inline aggressive, Heelys, ice, wheels and protection. Skateboard items include decks, trucks, wheels, completes, hardware, longboards, cruisers, pool boards, protection and other pieces. Stunt, commuting and folding scooters are available online. BMX products are also sold such as bars grips, hardware, protective wear and headsets, as well as full bikes.
