About Pure Collection
Pure Collection started in 2002 and was founded by Nick Falkingham and Adam Holdsworth. They wanted to provide the world’s best cashmere and published their first catalogue. In 2006, Pure Collection was launched in the US and one year later Pure Collection also started selling clothing that could complement its cashmere.
In 2011, boutiques were opened in York and Tunbridge Wells. A partnership with John Lewis brings Pure Collection products into 30 John Lewis stores. Sam Harrison became the CEO of Pure Collection in 2016 and a new look was introduced in 2017.
The cashmere comes from goat herders in Mongolia and Pure Collection maintains close contact with its herders. Overgrazing in the Mongolian grasslands can give rise to desertification. Pure Collection has therefore given the goat herders an incentive to use ecologically sustainable food.
It takes a lot of goats to make Pure Collection products. One Pure Collection sweater needs fibres from eight goats, while sweaters from other brands may only use half as many fibres. Pure Collection claims that this is what distinguishes their cashmere products from the rest.
Pure Collection’s business profits off the Mongolian grasslands, as that is where there cashmere comes from. To give back, they support the Christina Noble Children’s foundation (CNCF). This foundation promotes children’s rights in Mongolia by helping orphans, homeless and abandoned children.

Terrible customer service. I needed to exchange a sweater for a smaller size and although they tracked my return and found it was back with them 6 days previously, they failed to send me an e-mail to inform me of the received return and told me that in order to exchange it they would wait for 14 days and then the required size would probably be out of stock. What a ridiculous system. So they expect the customer to spend another £100 while waiting for a refund, not very satisfactory.
