O2 Free Sim is the Pay As You go plan for the second largest mobile telecommunication company in the UK, O2. O2 were founded in 1985 as Cellnet, that after several rebrandings was bought by Spanish telecommunications company Telefónica in 2006. They currently have 25 million customers and 450 shops across the UK and offer customers telephone network subscriptions, internet connection on a pay monthly basis, pay as you go basis and a SIM only basis. They also retail well know mobile phone brands such as Apple iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Sony, LG, Huawei, Xperia, Microsoft, Blackberry and OnePlus in their stores. The brand run a recycling service for old phones, called O2 Recycle, returning old phones handed into their store with payment. The company are purported to already have recycled thousands of phones meaning more than £100 million being paid to customers so far.

The tariff’s of O2’s plan are flexible. They offers customers the chance to keep their number, even if they are joining from another network. After ordering their free sim, they will received it within a day or two, at which point they can decide on the bundle they want to buy. These can be browsed for phones or for iPads and tablets. The former offers Big bundles, which has packages ranging from £10-£30, Classic Pay As You Go, with standard rate for calls texts and data, and International, with £10 or £15 a month packages. IPads and tablets offers three different monthly packages of data: Light surfer, steady surfer and ultimate surfer with the amount of data gradually increasing.
