Booked accommodation & transfers with Alpha-rooms for August 2021 plus flights with EasyJet. EasyJet then pulled out of Newcastle so no flights but got our money transferred back. Cancelled accommodation & transfers with Alpha-rooms £800 deposit in Sept 2020. Nothing but fight with them since. Promised refund via a Sept email in 6-8 weeks but was then told it was for a credit note that I had to use against another booking with these back street thieves & muggers or I'd have to wait till next August 2021 to request again for my money back. Stay clear because the way they've acted this year they'll be out of business next year. Customer support is rubbish - just keep telling you that's all there is so take it or leave it! If you book with these you might as well open your window & throw your money out into the street.
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER BOOK WITH ALPHAROOMS. Despite listing themselves as having won awards and being a conscientious booking company, it comes as a huge shock to find how dishonourable and dishonest they are when it comes to refunding money. Pandemic or no pandemic, they lie constantly about what they are doing and when they are doing it. They constantly refer to 'having to 'contact our supplier' when you ask how long it will be for a refund on a non-existent holiday will be. Having pressured one agent there into telling me who their supplier is, it turns out to be a company based in Mumbai, India called The Indian Hotels Company and is owned by TATA and huge conglomerate in India. So it seems that they don't book direct with anyone abroad but do it through their 'supplier'. Please look at ALPHAROOMS NO REFUND SUPPORT GROUP on Facebook to see the extent of the misery they are causing with non refund of monies owed to hundreds of people when they hadn't even booked the holiday or accommodation in the first place. I've had to put one star rating in order to post this review but to be quite honest they don't deserve any.
No customer service,I rang to tell them the flight had been cancelled and the Hotel closed."Richard" on the phone wouldn't acknowledge anything and asked me to contact the Flight Operator all the time talking about it I wanted to cancel the booking. Jet 2 SA they have issued a refund for the flight but again Alpharooms will not acknowledge receipt
Have been waiting since March for a refund from this company. Do not use at all cost we were not given an alternative and they tried to say we d accepted a voucher when we ve clearly never received one. I put in a chargeback with the bank in June and I m now still waiting on a decision. These are clearly ripping people off and have been since the start of the pandemic.
Extremely Negative. Lying Dishonest Company. Please do not use. They have not refunded our hotel ir did not even inform us that the hotel was closed until after the date of travel. They will promise anything to get you off the phone and then do not deliver.
Absolutely sick to death with this company. Holiday cancelled promised a refund within 6 to 8 weeks, Week 13 now and no sign of refund. I have emailed, phoned, left messages, all ignored, or told very busy times,will pass on details to relevant department who would contact me. Very helpful when we had to re schedule our 2020 booking to next year . Then decided to take the whole payment of £1500+ again on my credit card with no authorisation. Here I am 3 weeks later waiting for the refund which will be 'processed in 5 working days'! _ ' It will be in your account by Monday' - Monday never comes!!! Won't let me speak to a manager or explain their complaints procedure! Certainly never use them again!
This is the worst customer service I have ever received. During covid they refused to provide a refund Despite them cancelling. They gave a credit note. I used the credit on another hotel which also got cancelled due to covid escalations in spain. This time they will won’t change unless I pay £30 per person. The customer service is appalling. I’ve now called 4 times to try and change the hotel and dates. I have to wait 40 mins each time. Each time they say they can’t get through to the hotel and I should call back again tomorrow. I’ve wasted so much time. If I had booked direct it would have been cheaper and simpler. Never use this useless middleman! Steer clear.
I can only reinforce what other reviewers have said. I have used Alpha rooms for 10 years without issue - but 2020 has been a complete nightmare. Sadly the company been engulfed by the pandemic.
Obtaining a refund is near on impossible as it now even moving the dates. Customer services have clearly been told to lure as many customers in a possible to re booking. The same holiday for the same dates in 2021 have jumped by 40% and now needs to be spend in full!
Clearly something is up with the company financially and expect to see them disappear from the market shortly and probably suddenly taking their customers money with them.
Have been trying to rebook for months due to the cancellation this year. It's been an absolute nightmare. Taking nearly an hour to answer the phone, then being Indian cant make out what one another are saying. Had to make amends to a rearranged booking because the idiot made an error. Eventually got through again and rebooked the thing. Still awaiting confirmation of the booking. In my opinion it's a hoax. Keeping you on hold for half an hour each time they go check so.ething out. I think it's a case that you'll get fed.up waiting and go away
