Founded in 1965, as a simple camp site, Roompot Parks has since developed and become a leader in the market of camping and holiday park facilities, with an international scope of over 200 holiday parks and over 40 campsites reaching throughout Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Denmark, Italy and Spain. Their expansion from camping sites has now come to include management of properties, facilites for special care such as kidney dialysis and on-site care to assist holiday goers with additional required help. The company also went on to acquire the Dutch company, Hogenboom Vakantieparken in 2009 and is today continuing to grow throughout Europe.

The Roompot website is primarily divided into three sections, Holiday Park, Campsite and Hotel. This organisation of their site allows their customers to quickly and easily find the facility for which they are looking. Once a customer has selected their facility of interest they will be taken to a page including all the available search filters such as Destination, Number of People, Price, Number of Bedrooms and select any special features such as whether pets and smoking are allowed or discouraged, and whether the park features specific facilities such as baths, electric charging points for cars and nearby oceans or restaurants. It is also possible to search by facility name or using the map which displays the number of facilities in each area. Roompot owns 218 holiday parks in Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy and Corsica, 44 campsites throughout the Netherlands, France, Spain and Italy and 5 hotels throughout the Netherlands.
