05 and there was still no coach; the driver later claimed he’d waited 20 minutes. That didn’t line up with what we experienced and it felt a bit like being gaslit, to be honest. We didn’t want to miss the tour so we grabbed an Uber and forked out about £100 extra to get there. The trip itself? Fine once we were on the coach, actually enjoyable, and I’m glad we went. So I’m grateful it didn’t completely ruin the day. But the run-up — the freezing, the stress, the confusion — put a dampener on the birthday. TUI’s customer service offered a £30 voucher that expires in less than a year. Insulting, really. I get that mistakes happen, but this was avoidable with clearer pick-up details and a supplier number on the app. A bit of empathy from the support team would have helped too. Overall: decent experience once we got on the tour, but the booking and communication around pick-up were poorly handled and cost us time and money.
Not worth the day, but at least we made it back
00, and the promised “entrance fees” and “insurance” felt non-existent.
On the plus side, the driver was calm and got us back safely, and a couple of staff tried to help when the heat issue happened, so I’m thankful for that. Still, for the money and the hassle I’d recommend sorting your own transport if you can.A day out gone wrong, and nobody takes it seriously
