I was halfway through prepping dinner when I realised the roaster I'd ordered hasn't shown up and their replies have dried up. I've emailed and called a few times, got no proper update. When it does arrive it actually works fine for daily meals, but the delivery and customer service need serious sorting, and it's a pain having to rearrange evenings.
When it clicked
I first spotted this roaster at my mate's weekend brunch — thought it looked smart, so I asked where he got it and he tipped me off about the seller. When I phoned to order, the person on the line talked me through everything, patiently, and that’s the moment I realised I’d made the right choice. They didn’t oversell features, they were honest about timings and set-up, which made me relaxed. It isn’t flawless — the shipping tracker is a bit vague and I’m still waiting for delivery — but overall I’m happy and keen to test the actual roasting when it turns up.
Late but not terrible
Halfway through the second week I was seriously wondering if this was ever going to arrive — I’d actually first spotted the Sandbox R1 on Instagram after a mate sent me the link, so I ordered impulsively. The billing address thing and identity checks meant I had to dig out bank statements and my licence, which I sent straight away, but then... radio silence. I chased, they replied, sent an invoice, I paid and they said they'd ship immediately. For a couple of days there was no tracking, no proper update, just vague emails. It felt messy and slow, fair enough. Then the customer service team actually picked up properly, apologised, sorted the shipment and the roaster turned up in good shape. Delivery wasn't lightning fast but it arrived intact and the staff were helpful once they engaged. I'm relieved it worked out, because I was ready to cancel, yet glad I waited. If you buy from them, expect a bit of faff with paperwork and slow replies, but if you're patient you might end up happy like me. Would be better with clearer updates though. I told a couple of mates not to order straight away until I confirmed; glad I warned them. All in all I'm grateful it ended up fine.
