I'd skip Revive. I ordered a box and by the time I opened it — immediately, because the courier knocked — all 15 smoothie cups were completely thawed, packed in one big plastic insulated bag with no dry ice. I took photos straight away, put the cups in a bin bag and thought job done. Turns out that wasn’t good enough. They told me I had “more work to do” and demanded photos with lids off for each tub, even after I’d already bagged them up and thrown them away. Fine, I did it — took the pictures, untied the bin, opened lids, took more pictures, retied it all and bin-bagged it again. Two hours later they offered a credit or a replacement, with the lovely caveat that a replacement might also arrive in the same condition and I’d have to repeat the whole process. Also, trying to cancel the account is a mess: they only offer deactivation online, then give you a number to call to finish it — which, unsurprisingly, was closed when I rang. I’ve used other meal/produce services before and usually the customer care is quicker and less fussy; Daily Harvest, for example, had organic options and a straightforward returns process in my experience. So yeah, it works sometimes and the smoothies themselves are fine when they arrive frozen, but the handling and the customer-service hoops are unnecessarily awkward. Not broken beyond use but not reliable, and the admin burden means I won’t order again.
Good smoothies, clunky admin
I grabbed these when my back was playing up and I was mid-move — needed something quick and protein-rich, and they mostly delivered. The protein smoothies are the best, other flavours are a bit hit-and-miss, and yes, at full price it feels a touch expensive unless you hunt for discounts (which I do, repeatedly). Delivery was okay for the most part but twice cups turned up damaged — they refunded me, which I appreciate, though sorting it out was a faff. Customer service is polite and helpful on the refunds, but cancelling a subscription was absurdly awkward; no proper online option so I had to phone, and that’s just inconvenient. I’d also like better, recyclable packaging. Overall useful in a pinch, but a few niggles keep it from being seamless.
