Subscription stuck to an old work email

I used CapCut once in 2025 to knock together a work video and, honestly, the editor was nicer than I expected — simple timeline, quick export and the final file looked good for what it was. First impression was that it’s approachable and you can get something usable without digging through menus. I left that job not long after, and the email tied to the account stopped existing.

    Daily access keeps failing

I use the editor every day for short promo clips and this subscription is supposed to be my go-to tool, but I keep getting blocked from my account. I pay on time, I work alone from the same desktop at home (one IP, one device) and still their system flags “multiple logins” — which is simply not true. I’ve been chasing support for days, sent IP details, asked them to check the logs, and their standard reply is essentially “wait up to 28 days” for access to be restored. That’s not helpful when I have deadlines; losing a day or two of output costs me real money. The app itself is great when it works — fast timeline, useful filters — so I’m keen to keep using it. But the delivery of the service (i.e. actually being able to log in) is unreliable and the customer service feels slow and a bit scripted. I don’t expect miracles, just faster investigation and clearer communication. If they tightened up their fraud checks and had a proper escalation path, this would be a reliable tool for my workflow. For now I’m frustrated but still hopeful they’ll sort it out — I’d rather not switch, but I can’t keep being stopped in the middle of work.

Mixed bag but I’d still keep it

I’ll be straight — the Pro features are exactly what I needed for my client video work and they actually make life easier, so I’d recommend the product itself. I needed it because I was juggling deadlines and moving houses, and the extra export options and filters saved me time. That said, the billing and support side was messy and, annoyingly, I ended up paying twice for overlap months. To start with everything worked fine after I bought the yearly Pro plan, I was exporting and delivering stuff no problem. Then out of the blue my account flipped back to Standard and the Pro tools vanished. I asked support for a quick fix because I had clients waiting — sensible, right? — but all I got were generic replies that ignored the main question and suggested I might have another account. I don’t. I checked, rechecked, told them, but it didn’t help, so in the end I paid €199.99 again to get access and keep my projects moving. It’s not ideal and it hurt the wallet, and refunds have been slow or ignored so far, which is frustrating. Still, the app itself delivers on its promises when it’s actually enabled, and once everything is working it genuinely speeds things up. Just expect to chase support if anything odd happens.

Late-night freezes and a baffling bill

captions take ages, longer projects crash, and the whole thing hangs even on a fairly new MSI (Core i5) — so not my laptop’s fault.
What pushed me over the edge though was the pricing and the support. I wanted an extra seat for my partner who helps out sometimes; I assumed you’d just add another user to the Pro plan. Nope. Turns out Team is treated as a separate product, priced higher, so adding one person meant nearly double the monthly outlay. It felt awkwardly opaque — like you’re expected to guess how things stack up. I get that businesses need tiers, but this was not clear at all.
Then there was the billing hiccup: charged twice for the same month, spent ages explaining, uploaded screenshots, emails back and forth (well, mostly auto-replies), and never spoke to a person. That loop of canned responses asking for the same info was so frustrating. Eventually I got an email saying the issue had been “resolved” and please rate us — which was insultingly premature because no refund came through.
Despite all that, the app still does the job for quick edits and rough cuts — it’s not totally unusable — but it’s not what I’d call premium given the price and the flaky service. I’m moving my workflow elsewhere soon because I need clearer fees and human support when things go wrong. I’d recommend checking every detail before subscribing, and if you rely on it for paid work (as I do), maybe have a backup plan. It’s a shame: used to be reliable enough, now it’s shaky and customer service makes you feel a bit invisible.

    Not worth the hassle

watch your billing closely, use a card with dispute protection or don't sign up at all. Rant, but that's my experience.

Paid for Pro, then the goalposts moved

I’d paid for Pro because it advertised the AI generator and longer export options. For a while it did what I wanted — smooth trims, decent AI clips — so I was actually quite pleased. Then, a couple of months in, limits appeared. Generation credits, shorter max lengths, and features moved behind extra paywalls. It’s annoying because the app itself feels good to use, clean UI, quick renders, but the goalposts got shifted after I’d already paid. No clear notice, no fair pro rata, just a new set of caps that make the Pro tier feel weaker. Wish they’d been upfront or offered proper refunds; I’d advise anyone thinking of subscribing to watch the terms and keep receipts. Won’t renew unless they sort transparency.
