The online sign‑up was straightforward, the debit card showed up within a few days and transfers clear quicker than with my old bank. Customer support answered promptly on chat and sorted a small query straight away, which I appreciated. I’ve had worse experiences elsewhere, so it’s a relief to find something that just works.     I first heard about them from a colleague who said it was brilliant for freelance banking. I was sceptical at first. Small fintechs make me nervous. I signed up anyway because the app looked tidy and transfers were instant, which I liked. For about two years it was fine. Smooth payments, no fuss. That eased my doubts. Then things changed. I tried to get help and it felt like hitting a wall. The phone team were polite, really, but they couldn’t actually sort anything. They kept telling me to email a specific address. That email promised a reply within a business day. That promise vanished. Days, then weeks. I kept checking, kept worrying. Eventually I got one reply saying my account was being closed, after two years with no problems and no prior warnings. They claimed a terms breach but wouldn’t say what. Odd, because nothing had changed on my side. Even odder was the line about holding my funds for “no less than 60 days” and that they wouldn’t answer more emails. Reading other reviews showed this wasn’t unique. So those early positive bits — the tidy app, quick transfers — were real. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy banking felt for a while. But the way they handled the closure and communication left me cold. If you want a smooth app, fine. If you want reliable support and transparency about your money, I’d be cautious.
