Misleading subscription fees
I thought this service would give my child some useful educational stuff, but I was completely wrong. The material was old and the service was rubbish. When I tried to cancel my subscription, I kept getting charged as if it was some kind of fancy service. It really felt like a scam, to be honest.
Educational app experience
When I first started using the educational app, I found it really informative and interactive. However, I soon noticed that the content quality decreased when it was taken over by a new company. It felt like they cared more about making money than providing genuine learning experiences. Cancelling my subscription was a nightmare - I ended up being charged double and had to go through PayPal to get it sorted. I'd recommend avoiding this app to others.
Child's educational app
As a parent, I really like this app for my child's education. It's fun and interactive, so it keeps my child entertained while they learn. But, it was a bit of a letdown to find out that the globe feature only includes the United States. We live in Canada, so it would be good for my child to learn about other countries too. It would be nice to have more international content added to make the app more inclusive and diverse.
Child educational app trial
The trial for this children's educational app was a bit of a letdown because the interface on the iPad was quite clunky. It wasn't very easy to use for young children and it didn't have any UK language settings, which made things confusing. It felt like there were some basic design elements that were missing, and if they had been included, it could have made the app much better for young users overall.
Bad experience with app
I had a go at using this app and it was an absolute disaster. My wee sister ended up in tears because she couldn't figure out how to do anything on it. The app was all over the place, constantly glitching out and not letting her play any games or do any activities. It was really frustrating to watch her get so worked up about it. I hope they sort out all the bugs and make it easier for users to navigate.
Educational subscription
I'm a parent and I bought an educational subscription for my kids, hoping it would help them learn and develop. But to be honest, I was really let down after they tried it out. The website promised loads of educational stuff, but in truth, there wasn't much there. This lack of substance meant my kids didn't feel challenged or interested, so in the end, the subscription didn't really achieve its goal.
Educational program for my 5-year-old
This program has been quite troublesome for me, as I've had to to get in touch with customer service several times to sort out problems. It's really frustrating when they try to blame it on my device or some server issue. Despite these difficulties, I have noticed my son improving and benefiting from using it. The educational activities can be dull and sometimes feel like a chore, so I have to encourage him to finish them every day. In general, it's not flawless but it's the most suitable option I've come across for helping my son learn and get ready for Kindergarten.
Subscription to an online learning platform
This online learning platform is a total scam. They pretend to offer subscriptions and sneakily take money from your bank account without asking. The fact that there's no proper feedback on the site should make you suspicious - it's clear this isn't a reliable or honest place. I'd recommend steering well clear of this website, it's best to stay away altogether.
Online educational subscription
I recently had a bit of a nightmare with an online educational subscription service. A few years back, I signed up for a yearly subscription, and after using it for a bit, I decided to cancel in 2020. I got an email confirming the cancellation, which I kept safe. Fast forward to 2022, and I was baffled when they tried to charge my old credit card for the yearly fee. Thankfully, my bank spotted it as dodgy and blocked the charge. When I approached the service provider about this blunder, they not only couldn't give me a decent explanation but also tried to sell me a different subscription. This whole experience has left me feeling really let down and worried about how they handle billing.
Educational app for children
As a parent, I feel like the educational app for kids is missing some important things. Sometimes it doesn't work properly, and it doesn't always give out rewards when tasks are completed, which can be annoying for both kids and parents. Sometimes certain parts of the app aren't available, which can interrupt the learning process. My son likes playing with some parts of the app, like the hamster cage and bedroom, but he gets bored of the educational stuff quickly.
I think the app might be better suited for younger kids, like preschoolers, as they might enjoy the songs and activities more. However, I've been a subscriber for over a year and I've noticed that the monthly fee has gone up without much improvement in the content. I think the app could be better by having a section just for special needs children, who might need different educational material to keep them engaged and help them learn better.Unexpected credit card charge
I was quite annoyed that I got hit with a $60 charge right at the start of my free trial without any heads up or reason. I got in touch to question it, but there was no apology or even an explanation given. On top of that, there's this sneaky $1 monthly charge for the subscription which I think is way too much. Personally, I don't reckon it's worth the hefty price when you've got other services like Reading Eggs out there.
Online learning platform
I had a go at using this online learning platform I came across in an advert. I thought the stuff on there was interesting and really educational, especially for kids. The activities and lessons were interactive and enjoyable, which kept my child entertained and learning at the same time. However, I was a bit let down by how there wasn't much diversity in the characters and content. I reckon it's important to have a mix of characters for a good learning environment. In general, it's a good platform for kids' education, but it could do with being more diverse.
Mobile app for educators
I downloaded the mobile app for educators and I was really let down by how it worked. Even though it's free for educators, none of the 8 Apps in the bundle worked when I tried to use them on my iPad. It's just not on to make a program that can't be used on mobile devices nowadays when we depend on them so much. I won't be bothering with this app again, either at home or at work.
Subscription renewal issue
I had a bit of a nightmare dealing with a company when I tried to renew my subscription. The customer service person wouldn't help me unless I gave them my payment info over instant chat, even though the problem had nothing to do with money. It really got on my nerves and made me feel completely stuck.
Learning app for kids
This learning app is completely focused on American English, which can be annoying for British users. There isn't a choice to change to UK English, so children are being exposed to American spellings and words, which isn't ideal. It would be really helpful if they could add a UK English option to accommodate users from outside of the US.
Subscription Scam
I never even signed up for this thing and somehow they were still taking my money! It was such a pain trying to cancel and stop the payments. Just a big scam, I tell you!
Subscription trouble
I attempted to cancel my subscription, but it turned out to be a complete nightmare. Despite sending an email and receiving confirmation that it was cancelled, I still ended up being charged and there's another pending payment showing up. It all seems quite fishy and honestly, it's really frustrating.
Subscription scam
I got caught in a subscription scam with this company. Last August, I signed up for a one-year subscription for my grandson, but he's now moved away. Even though I cancelled my subscription right away after being charged for another year out of the blue, they wouldn't give me a refund. I wasn't even told when my subscription was ending, and the customer service was terrible. They didn't reply to my emails, and it felt like I was being ignored without any way to fix things.
Educational website subscription for children
I've found that the website is quite slow and after six months of using the subscription, I personally don't think it's been very helpful in teaching my child how to read. I'm also a bit disappointed that the website presents evolution as a fact to young children without giving parents the choice to control or adjust the lessons. When trying to set up reading sessions, I've noticed that sometimes the lessons veer off to other activities like colouring or discussions on evolution, instead of focusing on letter sounds like they should. It feels like there's not much control for parents, as you need to keep a close eye and step in often to make sure the lessons stay on track. A lot of the content seems to be more about songs and colouring rather than proper educational materials. Overall, I haven't really seen the kind of progress I was hoping for using this program compared to other options I've tried in the past.
Annual subscription ABCmouse early learning app
I went and got myself a yearly subscription for this learning app, but then when I went to get it on the app store, it wasn't there! They put out this new app that wasn't what I signed up for. So I got in touch with customer support and they told me to use the website, but it's just not the same! I'm so annoyed because I've already paid for it and now I can't even access it. All I want is my money back!
