Mostly brilliant, with a couple of faffy bits 8 March 2026

when it behaves, it's genuinely useful. The support team were a proper help — one chap on the line patiently talked me through a subscription muddle I’d made myself and actually sorted it, which made me breathe a sigh of relief. That said, the Sync unit was a bit temperamental in my main car. Seemed to rely on my phone’s GPS more than I expected and would go a bit odd every 15–20 minutes, especially on certain roads. That nearly put me off. I then got a Pure, thinking I could transfer everything over, only to find it needs its own subscription — irritating, but I sucked it up. The Pure has been much more stable in the car I use every day, so that worry eased. Biggest annoyance was wiring: the hardwire kit I bought for the Sync didn’t fit the Pure, so extra trips, extra clicks. Now I’ve moved the old Sync into my second car and it seems happier there, fingers crossed that was a car/phone quirk not the device. Dash cam purchase was fine, but finding an installer through the service was a pain — still looking for someone who’s decent and not ridiculously priced. Overall I’m glad I bought them; they do what I needed and the help I got was brilliant. Subscriptions sting if you’ve got multiple devices, but for daily peace of mind I’m content — just wish some of the setup bits were less fiddly.
