EMERGENCY ASSIST THREATENED TO LEAVE ME STRANDED IN A "SAFE PLACE"
I have been with Emergency Assist for a few years and have no problems in the past. I renewed my policy in August and wanted to confirm that the policy included full nationwide recovery which was confirmed. What they omitted to inform me was that the policy only covers a period of 40mins from breakdown to a garage. I rarely travel far from my home as being a pensioner I am a home bird. However, a couple of times per year I visit a caravan park not to far away for a few nights. On this occasion, I travelled 1hr.30mins to the caravan park. On my return today, I was 30mins into the journey and the battery warning light came on and then I could smell burning. So I found a layby and contacted Emergency Assist. I contacted them approx 10am and they conversation went on for a long time regarding the issue of not being able to take me home. They said it would incur extra charge of £125 + added price for mileage and could reach approx £200! They informed me that they could drop me in Urnsworth Manchester area (nowhere near Stockport). I said that I need to get to my garage in Stockport but the area was not available for drop off without incurring charges. So I then informed them that Unsworth was just 7 miles from the car dealer where I purchased my car but again, that would incur approx £200 charges! Unfortunately, the car dealer is away at present but will be arranging pickup soon. I was told that the pick up truck would be within 90 mins, however, I had to wait 2 hrs. So, from the initial phone call to actualy pickup I had been sat in my car for 3 hrs. I had informed them that I am an elderly lady on my own and need to get home to take my medication and that I was not feeling too good. I called Emergency 3 times to plea with them to just let the truck driver take me the extra 7 miles especially as the truck driver was late by 35mins. The truck driver then get a call to tell him that if I became difficult to just drop me off at a safe place. I was totally STUNNED and looking at his face, so was he! They were saying to dump an elderly lady who has waited 3 hrs and not feeling good to a so called safe place? I paid for a taxi home which was £35 (worth it) and took another 1hr 10mins. In total the whole journery from departing the caravan park at 9am took 7hrs to get home. The whole experience has left me deeply shaken and very tearful. I believe they record their phone calls and will be reporting this also to Trading Standards and BBC Watchdog.Breakdown Recovery
Avoid Motor Breakdown Cover from this company!
Stranded at the road side for more than 6 hours at night time! They didn't pay attention and act on breakdown information passed to call handling team (automatic gearbox locked in gear due to breakdown) - vehicle would require recovery using 'skids' as a consequence. Recovery agent sent did not have correct equipment. A total of 3 recovery companies used (second one cancelled - due to mechanic going 'sick'). An outright LIE - I called the recovery operative concerned after we had shared preliminary calls (so I had his telephone number). He was not sick at all - but was diverted elsewhere.
Made a complaint (and offered to share the circumstances) - which was rebutted in the most off-hand way. They are not interested in Customer feedback. They carried out a one-sided 'desktop' review - said I did not have a valid complaint - but invited me to make a Civil Claim if I wanted to go further. No reply sent to my follow up email - I was completely ignored. The most abysmal customer I have ever experienced. Out of curiosity, read some other reviews / complaints - which only goes to reinforce the motor breakdown cover (farmed out to 'Emergency Assist Ltd' to execute) is the subject of many complaints by other customers. My advice - if considering this company - GET YOUR COVER ELSEWHERE!Premium Policy Cover
DO NOT USE!
Read the small print for their definition of ‘national recovery’ … it is very different to most companies!
They seem to think that offering recovery to a local garage on a Sunday of a Bank Holiday weekend, when garages are shut for 2 days, is an acceptable recovery option for national recovery as part of Premium Policy cover!
One call handler even told me that it was unlikely they could help due to it being a Bank Holiday weekend and because I was towing a trailer.
Eventual recovery home cost me £625.
When I made a complaint, they sent me the call log with the full names of ALL the call handlers I spoke to, including the individual that part of the complaint specifically related to! Did they have consent to share this personal data with a complainant?! If not, then a breach of data protection can be added to the list too.
Cheap breakdown cover is only cheap until you need to use it!

First time calling for assistance and it will be the last time I will ever use them. After clearly identifying to them the vehicle had broken down with an engine fault they would not proceed with the callout for a recovery vehicle until I agreed on the phone that they could charge me a minimum of £84 if the recovery operators opinion was that there was not a legitimate fault. I could understand this if a customer had abused their system but this was the first time that I reported a breakdown (8 month into the annual policy). Appalling customer service, rude and blunt operator on the phone. Thankfully the recovery company ( a subcontractor) was completely the opposite, very helpful and transported the vehicle to a garage for repair. Be on guard against these tactics for if/when you are unlucky enough to have to call them.

I've been getting car covers from them for all our family vehicles for a good few years now, and I've got to say I'm really happy with the service we've been getting. The covers are top-notch and give our vehicles excellent protection. The staff know their stuff and give us some solid advice on which cover would work best for us. The prices are fair, especially for the quality of the covers. Overall, I'd definitely suggest their services to anyone looking for a dependable car cover.

The customer service at this company is absolutely fantastic, I was really impressed by how professional and friendly the staff were. The prices were fair and I decided to go for the parts and labour cover for that added peace of mind. The potential savings if anything goes wrong make it a really good investment for me. Breakdown assistance service
I was in a bit of a situation, my car suddenly stopped working and I needed help urgently. I contacted this company and, surprisingly, they arrived quickly to help me out. The man who assisted me was so friendly and really knew what he was doing. It turned out my injector needed to be replaced, which ended up being quite costly, but the service I got was fantastic. Despite the expense, I have to admit that the help I got was absolutely worth it. I will definitely be suggesting this company to anyone who finds themselves stuck with a broken-down vehicle.
My car not starting
My car wouldn't start, so I had to call for help. The person who came to pick it up was really friendly and made sure my car was sorted out quickly. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends if they ever need help with their cars.
Emergency roadside assistance
The emergency roadside assistance from Emergency Assist Ltd has been amazing! It saved me when my car broke down in the middle of nowhere. They came to rescue me really quickly. I did have to haggle a bit to get a half-price offer I saw online, but it all worked out in the end. Overall, I'm really pleased with the service.
Quick and efficient signup process
The sign-up process was really quick and simple, and the options were very clear. But, I did find the date of birth request a bit tricky to deal with if you're not great with technology.

The service we received from this company was absolutely terrible. They ended up charging my family member more than double the original quote due to a mistake with the tax, which was sorted out later that morning. We tried to sort things out and come to a fair solution, but they have not responded to our calls or emails. I would strongly advise against using this company.
Roadside assistance service
I had to ring for roadside assistance the other day when my car's exhaust fell off while I was driving. Luckily, Emergency Assist sent help quickly and efficiently. The mechanic who came was really nice and told me all about what happened and what needed fixing. He got my car onto his truck and took it to a nearby mechanic called RJPmechanics. Everything went smoothly and it was really easy. I was really impressed by the great service from Emergency Assist and their mechanic partner.

My experience with Emergency Assist Ltd was really disappointing. I got in touch with them for breakdown help when my son's car decided to give up, but despite my multiple calls within a short timeframe for different problems, they wouldn't come out to help us. The customer service was useless and not very professional, and they were trying to charge at least £125 for what they offered.
Dead battery call out
Well, I just want to start by saying that the price for this service is spot on. I had to call them out for a dead battery after being away for 5 weeks, and I was really happy with how affordable it was. The guy who came was so nice and quick, he had me sorted and back on the road in a jiffy. I was really impressed by how professional and friendly they were the whole time. I'll definitely be telling all my mates and family about this service.

I just can't believe the awful customer service I got from this breakdown assistance service. I had two incidents where I needed help, and all they did was make excuses and demand money! The first time, I left my keys in the ignition overnight and my battery died. Then, my car started leaking petrol while I was driving and finally broke down because it ran out of fuel. Even though I clearly needed help, the company wouldn't assist without charging me a crazy £200 fee. They even tried to link the second incident to the first one, saying a garage should've checked my battery after the initial breakdown. It's just not on from a so-called reputable company. I emailed a complaint to try and raise my concerns, but I haven't heard a peep back from them to this day.
