the picture quality in the demo unit before it died looked promising and the hardware seems well made. I’m glad I didn’t have a catastrophic experience, just frustrated by the back-and-forth and the return rules. If you’re not fussed about potentially jumping through hoops and paying postage to return a dud, it might be worth a punt. If you want proper phone support and someone who will own a fault, look elsewhere.
Close-but-still-happy
driving home in fading light, the video was clear, the lane-keep prompts were sensible and the parking clips saved me from a small scrape in a supermarket bay. Proper relief, that.
It’s not flawless, mind you. The casing doesn’t sit absolutely flush where the mirror housing used to live, and there’s a bit of an awkward filler piece you’re meant to slot in to hide the extra edge. Looks a bit improvised from outside if you’re picky. The little plastic cover can be fiddly and once it popped loose I had to nudge it back — the support advice from tech was basically “see if the glass holds it, or glue it.” Not brilliant support phrasing, but hey, a quick dab of adhesive and it’s fine for now.
What really won me over was the day-to-day: crisp daytime footage, decent night recovery, and the app is straightforward once you get used to swapping between its modes (yes, two apps might be annoying but I got the hang of it). I recommended it to my sister for her commute and she’s been happy too, especially with the parking monitor. Customer service can be slow and a bit robotic — expect to send a photo or two — but if the unit itself does what you need, that becomes less of a drama.
So, would I buy again? Probably, because it actually performs where it counts. Would I expect a factory-perfect cosmetic match? No — don’t be surprised if you need a bit of patience and a small fix-up. Overall I’m pleased: practical, reliable enough, and worth it if you prioritise function and clear footage over showroom looks.
