    Half great, half a faff

barely visible, lots of warnings about headlights and the wipers, and swtiching back to the OEM unit suddenly fixed everything. They sent another Y-cable but that didn’t change a thing. Support promised to take the camera back, but then kept asking for more and more proof that I’d connected their three-pin to the car correctly. After almost 20 emails I was asked to prove connections that are practically impossible to show without tearing half the dashboard out (MK8.5 owners will know what I mean). In the end I stopped chasing it — not because the product is poor (it isn’t, the footage is great), but because the back-and-forth was exhausting. So, happy with the camera’s performance, annoyed with the support. My tip: if you’re handy and don’t need returns, go for it; if you expect helpful aftercare, be warned. I’d like clearer fitment info and a simpler returns process — that would make this product much easier to recommend.

the app/interface is okay, the footage looks fine when it actually records, and installation is straightforward if you like fiddly cable work. But the inconsistency undermines the whole point of a dashcam — you want it to be boringly reliable, and this one wasn’t. If you try it, check your clips regularly and maybe don’t rely on a hardwire setup if you can avoid it. I’m cautiously open to trying their kit again one day, now that they handled the return properly, but for now I’d advise being prepared to troubleshoot.

Small bit of kit, big relief

unplug one plug from the mirror, plug the camera in, tuck the cable away and done. Proper five minutes after the console came off. The unit itself looks tidy — well moulded, not shouting about itself, which I like. I’ve left it on the highest picture setting and the files are consistently clear, even on dull wet mornings or when the sun’s at a weird angle. It’s become part of the daily routine now — drives to work, school runs, popping to the shops — and it’s one less thing to worry about. Value-wise I think it’s fair; you’re not paying extra for flashy branding, just something that works. Delivery was slower than I hoped, stuck in customs for a bit, but that was the only real hitch. Overall I’m glad I bought it — a quiet, sensible upgrade that actually delivers when you need it. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to a mate doing the same install.

Not the best, but not a total disaster

the picture quality in the demo unit before it died looked promising and the hardware seems well made. I’m glad I didn’t have a catastrophic experience, just frustrated by the back-and-forth and the return rules. If you’re not fussed about potentially jumping through hoops and paying postage to return a dud, it might be worth a punt. If you want proper phone support and someone who will own a fault, look elsewhere.

    Close-but-still-happy

driving home in fading light, the video was clear, the lane-keep prompts were sensible and the parking clips saved me from a small scrape in a supermarket bay. Proper relief, that.
It’s not flawless, mind you. The casing doesn’t sit absolutely flush where the mirror housing used to live, and there’s a bit of an awkward filler piece you’re meant to slot in to hide the extra edge. Looks a bit improvised from outside if you’re picky. The little plastic cover can be fiddly and once it popped loose I had to nudge it back — the support advice from tech was basically “see if the glass holds it, or glue it.” Not brilliant support phrasing, but hey, a quick dab of adhesive and it’s fine for now.
What really won me over was the day-to-day: crisp daytime footage, decent night recovery, and the app is straightforward once you get used to swapping between its modes (yes, two apps might be annoying but I got the hang of it). I recommended it to my sister for her commute and she’s been happy too, especially with the parking monitor. Customer service can be slow and a bit robotic — expect to send a photo or two — but if the unit itself does what you need, that becomes less of a drama.
So, would I buy again? Probably, because it actually performs where it counts. Would I expect a factory-perfect cosmetic match? No — don’t be surprised if you need a bit of patience and a small fix-up. Overall I’m pleased: practical, reliable enough, and worth it if you prioritise function and clear footage over showroom looks.
