Quieter nights without turning bedtime into a project 27 October 2026

The first thing I noticed was not really the pillow itself, oddly enough, but the atmosphere in the bedroom after a few nights. My partner wasn’t nudging me awake or heading off to the spare room, and mornings felt a bit less fraught. Apparently my snoring had become rather legendary in our house, though I’d prefer not to know the full details. The A1 hasn’t made me totally silent, and I don’t think any product could promise that realistically, but it has brought the noise down enough that my partner can actually sleep through it. That’s made a proper difference to both of us. The pillow feels softer than I expected for something with technology inside it. I generally like a reasonably supportive pillow, so I used the extra foam insert and that seems to be the sweet spot for me. Without it, it was a little low, but that will obviously depend on how you sleep. I mostly sleep on my side and occasionally roll onto my back, and it hasn’t felt awkward in either position. When it adjusts, there is a slight shifting sensation and a faint mechanical noise, but honestly I barely register it now. It certainly doesn’t wake me up. The pillow seems to gently move your head when it picks up snoring, rather than suddenly forcing you into a strange position, which was one of my initial worries. There were a couple of things that made me hesitate, though. Our first unit stopped working after only a handful of days. Not ideal at this price, and I did have that sinking feeling that we’d spent a lot on something unreliable. To their credit, customer support were very responsive, including over the weekend, and arranged a replacement without making things difficult. We’re in the UK, so it took around two weeks to get here, but it was packed properly and the replacement has been fine so far. I’ve also put some firm foam behind the connector because our bed has a wooden headboard and the plug sticks out more than I’d like. It may not be necessary, but it gives me a bit of peace of mind. One slightly amusing issue is that it sometimes reacts to my partner’s snoring too. Her snoring is much quieter than mine, thankfully for me, but I once lay awake and felt the pillow responding while she was making the noise. It would be useful to have a sensitivity setting, especially if you share a bed. The app is decent and gives you plenty of sleep information, although some of it feels a bit technical and I don’t always remember to open it. The good news is the pillow still works without the app running. It’s expensive, no getting around that, but for calmer nights and less grumpy mornings, I think it has earned its place on the bed.
