    Midnight impulse buy gone quiet

So, funny story — I was halfway through scrolling through YouTube last week and an ad for a drain unblocker popped up. It looked proper impressive on screen, all flashy demos and that buy 2 get 1 free deal, and I thought, why not, it’s only £17.99. I paid straight away, expecting the usual ping of confirmation and a tracking number within hours. That’s where it turned into a bit of a saga. Nothing. No receipt, no email, nada. I’ve sent a handful of emails asking what’s happening and I might as well be sending them to a black hole. No call, no tracking, no “we’ve got your order” message. The ad sold me the product — visually it seemed convincing — but whatever system handles customer contact is non-existent. It’s annoying more than catastrophic; I’m not dealing with drains right now, but I’d like to know whether my money vanished into the ether or if someone has mislaid my parcel. I can imagine the product being fine, honestly — the advert made it look like it could actually work — but until I get something, it’s all potential. I’m trying not to be dramatic, but a basic order confirmation really is table stakes for a business. If they’ve got a customer care team somewhere, they’re doing a brilliant job of hiding. I’d welcome a proper response, an explanation, and either the item or a refund of the £17.99 I paid back in March. For now I’m left waiting and a bit fed up, and if nothing changes I’ll push for a refund. Not a disaster, but definitely not what I expected.

    Odd purchase, poor follow-up

Don’t bother — that’s my quick verdict. I ordered what were listed as nail clippers and what turned up were rotating nail files, so right away I knew something was off. I started a returns run-around straight away, emailed, phoned, waited — crickets. The 30-day return window closed while I was still trying to get anyone to reply, and I’m now out nearly £20 on something I didn’t want. I’ve dealt with dodgy sellers before, so I tried to be patient and follow the process, but this felt like hitting a wall. The strangest bit was a small bottle of spicy vodka turning up from another firm using my details — an unexpected surprise I didn’t ask for. When I queried that company they insisted the payment was genuine on their end, which confused me because I didn’t authorise it. I can’t prove how my details got shared, but the lack of answers and a refusal to accept a return makes it look very sloppy at best, dishonest at worst. If you value your time and a proper refund, look elsewhere — I wouldn’t risk it again.

    Not worth the bother

don’t bother with TrustPicks — poor communication and a refund that never arrived. I needed the order because I’m disabled and housebound (so online shopping isn’t a casual thing for me), and losing £25.55 actually mattered. Ordered on 10 January 2026, their tracking said “not dispatched” and then… silence. I emailed, used their contact form, chased and chased, even asked for a full refund, and got nothing back. No replies. No updates. In the end I had to mention legal steps just to rattle them — not what you want to do over a small order, but there you go. It’s maddening more than dramatic: irritating, disrespectful, and a bit heartbreaking when you rely on deliveries. I’m not usually quick to slate companies (I try to be fair), but this felt like being ignored on purpose. If you’re housebound or on a tight budget, take the extra minute to find someone reliable. Learned my lesson the hard way.
