It was one of those rainy school-run mornings when I pulled them out for the first time. They felt lovely — soft neoprene, cosy lining, easy to pull on, and my eight-year-old kept them on. We started using them almost daily for puddle play and dog walks. At first I was impressed. Then after about three months of wearing them maybe three times a week, they split around the seam where the neoprene meets the lower rubber and started letting water in. Customer service sorted a replacement quickly. But the second pair split again within two months, so I don’t see the point in asking again. Shame, because they’re comfy and my child really likes them.
Nearly sorted birthday presents
I was right in the middle of sorting the twins' birthday stuff when the account mess hit — we'd bought smaller Spotty Otter jackets and dungarees about 18 months ago and they’ve been brilliant, so I ordered the bigger ones as presents. Problem was we'd just moved and I couldn't change the address online. I was told to place the order to the old address and then immediately tell them the new one — which felt odd, but I did. That workaround didn't work, so I ended up ringing them. It took longer than it should have, a faff really, but the person on the phone was helpful and actually updated my address while we were talking. Bit annoying I had to call, but pleasantly surprised by the human touch in the end. Can’t comment on the fit yet until the boys open them.
