I needed this as a last‑minute birthday present and was already half in panic. They cancelled my order without warning — and the chat kept telling me to buy again at full price, which felt like cheeky nonsense. I kept grumbling, messaged a bit more, and then finally, after a few days, someone actually sorted a refund and apologised. That was the moment I breathed out; not brilliant but relieved.
Not what I expected, but pleasantly surprised
Liked it more than I thought. I needed a floor lamp after moving flats — long days and a bad back. Delivery looked messy, box battered and courier turned up late, so I braced for the worst. The lamp however gave a surprisingly warm glow and made the room feel right. Not top-notch quality, but decent value for the hassle. Pleasantly surprised.
Half-built sofa saga
I was halfway through putting the sofa together when I spotted the cover was the wrong colour, and two days later the cushion inners turned up in the wrong size. They want returns dropped at a DPD point 40 km away, then you wait about 20 days for a refund and are told to reorder. It’s a faff, really. Customer service was polite but painfully slow — wish they checked orders before sending.
Not great, honest
missed slots, not turning up after I took a day off, items arrived damaged and a piece was missing. Tried to sort it; Annie phoned, call dropped and she never rang back.
Furniture's great, delivery's not
Thought I'd be stuck forever with Evri — their tracking seemed to know less than I did — but I took the risk for a decent-priced sofa. Delivery was delayed a couple of times, and customer service fumbled at first, denying a cancellation even when they knew where it was. Still, the sofa sits in my living room now, daily use, very comfy and well made. Bit annoying, but happy in the end.
Nice wood, awful follow-up
Unpacked it the evening it arrived and, odd thing, the top actually looked nicer than the photos — proper wood grain — but it was cracked straight across. Tried calling, phone just rang out, WhatsApp was quiet, no reply. I even tried leaving a review and got an auto-email saying it wouldn't be posted. They did email once but that led nowhere; two weeks on, more emails ignored. No refund, no replacement — they took my cash and disappeared. Bit fed up.
Wrong jacket and a bit of a faff
I opened the box thinking I'd finally got the jacket I'd been waiting for and pulled out something completely different. Sent it back straight away and asked them to cover the postage since it was their slip. They kept asking for a photo of a "defect" — there wasn't one, it was just the wrong item and it was already on its way back, so I couldn't take a pic. We asked only for the refund on the item (not the return), emails got a bit prickly and then stopped. Annoying, and a bit of relief it didn't drag on more.
Bit of a faff, but worth a shot
Overall, I'd say it's worth trying — despite the mess, the result was okay. I ordered a vase after moving into a new flat and needed something on the table, I went for this place. First parcel was a shelf by mistake and I had to re-order at my own cost, then wait weeks for a refund; second parcel went missing with the courier. Service was slow and a bit chaotic, but issues were resolved and the vase itself is fine, so not perfect but it works.
Nice clothes, pesky returns
I like their stuff — nice styles and decent quality, honestly. I had a bit of faff though when two out of three items didn’t fit. I paid for delivery assuming returns would be easy and free, but the returns instructions were vague. In the end I printed a label and took the parcel to the Post Office because that was simplest, only to be charged £3.90. Add the outbound delivery and I’ve spent around £7–8 just on postage for clothes I didn’t keep. Weirdly I haven’t had any confirmation that they’ve received the parcel either, so I’ll be watching my bank for the refund. Customer service didn’t feel proactive about that. Still, the clothes themselves are lovely, so if you shop here, maybe order one thing at a time or double‑check sizes, and keep your receipts.
Tea, time and no parcel
00, I rang back at 13:00 and even offered to collect myself, and confirmed everything by email. Then, bafflingly, they refunded me with hardly an explanation. Frustrating and disappointing.
Half a sofa, full of hassle
choose another retailer if you need something you can actually use straight away.
Don't bother with returns
I wouldn’t buy from them again. Sent me a damaged item that I’d planned to use every day — it was meant for the kitchen, for everyday cooking, so that was annoying. I emailed them a handful of times over a few weeks and got pretty much nothing back, which felt like being ignored. Only after I left a negative comment did they suddenly reply within minutes and start asking me to arrange a collection. So now I’m meant to stay in all day for a driver to take something they can’t even resell — feels pointless and wasteful. They also pulled my review from their own site saying it “didn’t meet policy”, which was the last straw. Frustrated more than angry, to be honest. I’ll be doing a chargeback — costs on them if that’s what it takes.
Where did you post the review to receive a response please?
Birthday table, big hassle
I spent ages explaining the issue, they accidentally raised two return requests, both for the wrong day, and then I ended up waiting for a courier who never showed. Oddly both requests were later marked “completed” by Evri, which makes no sense. A new collection was booked but no time slot was given until the last minute, and meanwhile the replacement was delayed. On the day it should've arrived I waited two hours past the ETA — nothing. So here I am having to chase support again. The product itself also looks cheaper than expected, honestly worse than basic flat-pack stuff. One small positive: the reps I spoke to were polite, which I appreciated. My tip — if you need it for a date, don’t risk this service.
Delivery left a lot to be desired
the sofa I did get is okay and gets used every day in my living room, so that part worked out — surprisingly comfortable. But the delivery and aftercare have been a nightmare. One item arrived and the desk is apparently lost by the courier. I’ve phoned and emailed both the delivery firm and the company's customer service many times, and so far it's just promises and no clear plan. The order was paid in full but I'm told I can't cancel the missing desk; I'm waiting to hear what they'll do next. This follows an earlier return that took six weeks and constant chase-ups — I had to take time off work for it. It's frustrating because when things arrive they're fine, and that bed we ordered from Next arrived without fuss, so I know good delivery is possible. I'm disappointed; I needed the desk for working at home and it's left a hole in my setup. Will think twice before ordering from them again.
A long wait that ended in a small relief
the carrier misplaced it twice, messages vanished, and payments stayed in their account for over two months. It was a horrible limbo, with guests almost booked in and me stuck with no furniture. The moment the refund confirmation landed was the moment I knew the hassle had at least been sorted financially. That didn’t fix the lost time or the stress, and the lack of clear alternatives from customer service was disappointing. If you’re considering them for anything time-sensitive, don’t assume smooth delivery — have a backup plan and keep all correspondence. Small tip: escalate early, document everything and be ready to fight for a refund. I was annoyed and pretty stressed during it, but getting the money back made me feel like justice, however small, had been done.
Loyal customer, messy returns
I’ve bought quite a bit from them over the years and generally been happy, so this was a bit of a surprise. I got two small side tables a few weeks ago for the living room — first impressions were fine, they look the part. But almost straight away the paint marked and scratched (very easily), and after hardly using them they already looked tired. I sent photos, offered more evidence, and then went into what felt like a loop. Support asked me to pack the tables up (with what packaging? — honestly), ship them back, wait for them to reach the warehouse, then hope a quality team agrees they’re faulty before any refund. They kept saying a courier was trying to contact me; I got nothing — no calls, no texts, no WhatsApps. Also had a rug to return and was told I’d need to book and pay separately even though it’s the same pickup spot — made no sense. I’m relieved it was eventually sorted and I did get a refund in the end, so that’s something to be grateful for, but the whole back-and-forth, lack of clear communication and extra hoops was really frustrating.
Great product selection, environmentally responsible, and a discount offered made for a really good price.
I was really happy with the variety of products I found on the website, especially the ones that were environmentally friendly. The discount they gave me made the overall price really reasonable too.
Simple browsing and ordering process
I thought the process of browsing and ordering was really easy to follow and user-friendly. The app was great for moving around and picking out the things I wanted. I also liked how quickly my order arrived and the updates I got on its status.
Bedsheets with blood stains
I recently bought a set of bedsheets from an online store and I was really let down by the quality of the product. When the package arrived and I opened it up, I saw dried blood stains all over the sheets right away. It was so gross and made me doubt the company's cleanliness standards. I guess these must have been used sheets that weren't checked properly before being put back in packaging and sold again. My whole experience with La Redoute was honestly disgusting and it's made me wary of buying from them again in the future.
Boots purchase
I've been having an absolute nightmare tracking my delivery. The process is so slow and I never get any tracking details on time. Getting a refund for returns takes ages too. It's making me think twice about online shopping. And I'm a bit wary about downloading any more apps for this.
