Lights were low, duvet half-on, phone buzzing — that's when I noticed the app. A friend had mentioned the place a few days earlier so I gave it a go. Order accepted, confirmation came through, then an automatic text saying 'order refunded'. I waited. Half an hour, well, longer, and thought it must be a mistake. I rang. The call wasn't smooth — had to ask for repeats — but it turned out they'd cancelled because the kitchen was swamped. No app notice, no call beforehand. Annoying. I'm often unwell and rely on takeaways, so these things aren't trivial.
Same name, different story
I have to laugh a bit — we loved the Bangkok branch, so spotting the sign outside our Copenhagen hotel felt like a good omen. We were there because travelling with a child who’s allergic to shrimp makes you picky; basically we just wanted a safe, no-drama meal. Instead it turned into a small circus. Drinks came first, then they plonked all the mains down at once (bit chaotic), and the pad thai that arrived was shrimp — exactly what we’d said not to get. The manager (a woman) insisted we had ordered it and refused to swap to chicken unless we paid extra. No real apology, just a flat “you ordered this” attitude. Awkward, and a tad rude. The food wasn’t awful, just mediocre — the Penang tasted more like an Indian curry than the Thai versions I know, weird and slightly bland. There were plenty of empty tables which felt... telling. On the plus side, the waiter who took our order was sweet, and somebody did bring extra napkins, so not everything was terrible. Still, after that allergy row I won’t be back. If you’re travelling with food restrictions, I’d pick somewhere else. Sad to say, other places in town did better for less faff and stress.
