it works, but the delivery was a mess. A mate tipped me off about the French presses so I ordered two. DHL delivered to the wrong address and it took a month of back-and-forth e-mails with customer service, painfully slow at first. They eventually resent the items; I was sceptical but pleased. Tip: choose a click-and-collect point with ID, saves a lot of faff.
Good coffee, too much plastic
I bought it because of glowing reviews, but on closer look the amount of plastic in the body and internals surprised me, and the product pages don't make that obvious. They say it's BPA- and phthalate-free - helpful, maybe, but doesn't change that I prefer metal where I can get it. People suggest the 18 oz size, yet the chamber diameter is smaller than you'd expect, so you can't just swap in metal parts or find third-party replacements. Also noticed the paper filters are made in China, which mattered to me. Overall it works, and it's fine for casual use, but if you want repairability or all-metal internals, look elsewhere.
