Halfway through the leaflet I realised this wasn’t for me — and that was the moment I felt properly satisfied, oddly enough. A bloke came round selling door-to-door, pleasant enough, so I gave it a go but cancelled when the price didn’t sit right. Thought that was it. No such luck. Since then I’ve had emails, leaflets through the letterbox and regular phone calls. It’s just nagging rather than anything aggressive, but it grates. I’ve blocked the sales number and will filter the emails; that tiny bit of control brought the relief. If they call at your door, don’t feel pressured — check the price first and be ready to say no.
Nearly turned the order away
I was halfway through unpacking the first box and was ready to bin the lot — half‑thawed shells, a faint off smell and a few broken claws. It was my first time ordering eight whole cooked Canadian lobsters for a friend’s visit, so I was sceptical. I phoned customer services, they were straightforward and arranged replacements the next day. That second delivery looked normal and, crucially, tasted fine once heated — firm but not leathery. The moment I knew I’d stay a customer was after that first bite; not perfect, but acceptable and handled properly. Delivery timing was spot on which helped calm me down.
Half a dozen good bits, one annoying habit
their payment gets processed through a firm called Verifone, and I read a few worrying reviews about them elsewhere, which made me double-check my bank details more than I wanted to. Anyway, the actual products — sea bass, salmon, fish cakes — are reliably good and fairly priced compared to local shops. My tip: if you’re ordering, ask them to note “no sales calls” and use card online if you can. That might save you the repeat phone chat. I’d recommend them for quality and delivery, just be prepared to be firm about communication preferences. I’ll probably keep ordering, but I’ll be clearer next time — and a bit less polite about the phone.
