Brutally terrible home delivery service, customer support, and as for their head office and their supposed internal complaints procedure,. They couldn’t seem to care less what their branch manager’s do or how diabolical they treat their customers.
Due to a serious injury, I am housebound and can only go out in my wheelchair and even then not far.
It would seem the manager of my local store has taken a dislike to me. Every two weeks when I have ordered my shopping, living alone and being on benefits in the current cost of living crisis, plus I don’t eat much. He would send a new driver out to me. Most of whom were clueless and phoned me up for directions. Despite providing child and idiot-proof instructions on my account. When they could be bothered to deliver that is. It took me about three-quarters of an hour to prepare for the delivery. As I have to put a box on my doorstep for the delivery trays and a chair to sit on. If that gives you some idea of how serious my injury is.
Six times I have not had my groceries delivered and have had to phone their diabolical customer support and to find out where my order was and to rebook it for the next day. Leaving me without any pain relief, milk, and not much food to eat.
The last straw was when I had a message informing me I would not receive my shopping due to an issue with the van. So I booked it again for the next day. The same thing happened the next day... I was informed there was supposedly still a problem with the van and given a full refund. After many phone calls to their customers support making all kinds of excuses for the manager, I sent a formal complaint to their head office. Who just notified the store manager, the person I was making the complaint about. After many emails and excuses from them, their final excuse was that there was nowhere for them to legally park the van and it was considered unsafe to deliver to my address because I live on the second floor of an apartment building. Which incidentally has a lift at the front and two different stairs at the rear and side of the building. I’ve been a customer since the start of the pandemic and they have managed to deliver almost without fail. Every two weeks, until recently. Maybe there is a new manager but certainly no excuse for treating customers, especially with disabilities, in such an appalling and dreadful way. There didn’t seem to be any communication with the drivers either because none of them had any idea about my injury. One driver who didn’t deliver said she could redeliver if I met her at the bottom of the stairs. When yet again I had to phone their wonderful customer support. Obviously I couldn’t and as a result I didn’t receive my groceries that day either. It seemed to me he was deliberately sending drivers who perhaps he either didn’t like or didn’t feel were right for the job on purpose.Newspaper
Appalling Customer Service At Tesco Express, Best Avenue, Burton Upon Trent
I have ceased to shop at Tesco Express, Best Avenue, Burton Upon Trent due to the unhelpful confrontational attitude of the staff and toxic atmosphere. The voucher/coupon processing at the automatic tills has not worked for the past two years without manual intervention by the staff, and when it fails altogether there is a rude adversarial response, no apology for the inconvenience, no reporting of the error to their administration department and no follow-up with the customer.Delivery
Well Tesco have decided they cannot process my payment card. so being in a rural village, disabled, elderly I am now stuck with diminishing groceries. Why can they not process the card? Well, being all powerful they feel that we lower life forms do not need an explanation. Other companies (Amazon, Temu, Ebay etc) can all process the same card. Just Tesco having a problem. Such an utterly unacceptable service
toddler formula milk
Extremely disappointed with the service I received at Tesco Extra on Chester Road, Manchester. I went in to buy four tins of toddler formula milk for my daughter ahead of our holiday. Despite there being plenty in stock, I was abruptly told by a staff member that I could only buy three. I politely explained the situation and asked to see the policy. She called over a manager named “Jack,” who was rude, dismissive, and refused to show me any proof of the policy. He wouldn't even give his full name.
To make things worse, I was surrounded by multiple staff, and one of them took a tin from my basket without asking. The whole experience was uncomfortable and humiliating, as if I had done something wrong just for trying to buy essentials for my child. I later found out that any policy like this is over a decade old and no such notice was displayed in the store.
If a policy exists, customers deserve clear signage and respectful communication—not to be told to “check online” while being treated with suspicion.
I left the store empty-handed and bought the formula from Asda instead, where the price was lower and the staff were far more professional. Tesco, you’ve lost a loyal customer because of poor training and even worse attitude from your staff.Steak Pie
I recently bought a steak pie from the Tesco finest range as the normal ones were sold out.
Unfortunately I was very disappointed as the pie pastry was lovely and the steak was good but the problem was that it included bacon and caramelised onions which completely destroyed the expected steak taste.
So my comment is why add these unnecessary items and destroy the taste of the expected product especially since the pie was well cooked with good basic ingredients
GrahamGrocery purchase with coupons
I had a bit of a bad time at the grocery store recently, which really got on my nerves. I had got some coupons through the post and thought I'd pop into the store to use them. But, when I tried to use them, the cashier wouldn't accept them because the product I wanted to buy was a bit cheaper than the value of the coupons. I tried to explain that the coupons were legit and followed all the rules, but the cashier just wouldn't budge. I asked to speak to the manager, but they never turned up after waiting for ages. The whole lack of customer service and not respecting valid coupons really left me feeling pretty disappointed.
Online grocery shopping experience
I recently had a really disappointing time with a grocery delivery from this company. Basically, I ordered stuff and they messed up big time - some things were missing and when I tried to sort it out with customer service, they were all over the place. It was a right pain and left me feeling annoyed and let down by the whole thing. After this, I don't think I'll be bothering with their online shop again.
Quick and efficient online grocery order
I was so angry with the service I got from my online grocery order today. I placed my order first thing in the morning, expecting it to arrive between 9am and 10am. But by 1.30pm, I was still waiting for my stuff to turn up. When I finally got in touch with customer service for an update, they told me there were some "technical issues." Not exactly what you want to hear when you're feeling hungry and under the weather.
Jam doughnuts and lettuce
I recently ordered some groceries from this store and, overall, it was pretty good. However, there were a couple of things that didn't sit right with me. Firstly, I was a bit disappointed that I could only get packs of 5 jam doughnuts when I only wanted 1 or 2. This meant I had to throw away 3 doughnuts because I live alone and couldn't eat them all in time. It would be really helpful if they offered smaller quantities for things like this to reduce waste. Also, I noticed that the packs of 2 lettuces were close to their sell-by date, which isn't ideal for someone like me who only needs one lettuce. This kind of unnecessary packaging and forced buying in bulk only adds to the food waste problem we have in the country, where 40% of food ends up in landfill. It would be great if the store could be more flexible with quantities for certain items to tackle this issue.
Water bottles
I bought some water bottles from Tesco Groceries and I find the flip top lid quite annoying because it spills sometimes. I think it would be better if they had screw tops instead, especially for families with kids. Apart from that, I am happy with how quickly my orders are delivered. However, I have had some issues with the freshness of certain items like fruits, veggies, and other perishables. It's frustrating to get stuff that's already gone off or will expire soon after delivery.

I've just bought a few bits from Tesco Groceries and, to be honest, I wasn't overly happy with what I got. The Gouda and Edam Crispies were a bit of a let-down - they didn't taste quite as cheesy as I expected and they were really hard to bite into. The texture wasn't great either; it felt a bit greasy in the mouth. I reckon they should think about changing the recipe to make it more appealing to customers.

Whenever I order my groceries online for delivery, I keep getting items that are about to go off, especially the meat. The website says there'll be at least 5 days until they expire, but that's never true. It's really annoying that a major supermarket can't even follow their own rules properly and is putting us customers in danger.

I got my groceries delivered last week and I was really disappointed. The stuff I got was nearly out of date and not very good quality. I'm a frequent customer who orders groceries from your site and I recently bought the Tuna and Sweetcorn Pasta meal deal. To my disappointment, when I received my order, I found that it didn't come with a spoon or fork, which made it tricky to eat. I was frustrated because I assumed the utensils would be included in the packaging. Because of this, I won't be buying this meal deal again in the future.
Delivery cages cluttering aisles
There's been a real problem lately with all these delivery cages clogging up the aisles in the supermarket. It's making it really difficult for my wife, who has dementia, especially with the baskets in the centre aisle already causing her issues. The situation is getting worse for us and other shoppers. It's disappointing that some companies don't seem to see or care about how this is affecting people like us.
Groceries returned due to being out of date
I'm a Tesco Groceries customer and I recently had a bad experience trying to return an out of date item at the Cliftonville Margate store. The staff there were really unhelpful and unfriendly, it felt like they were all against me. They quickly brushed off my concerns, despite me having the receipt and proof that the product was expired. It was disappointing to see such poor customer service and lack of professionalism for a simple issue. What really got to me was how differently they reacted to potential shoplifters, being all hesitant and non-confrontational. I was left feeling really unsatisfied and frustrated with how they handled my situation.

The service was top-notch and the products were fantastic. The delivery driver was really helpful and friendly, especially considering my troublesome back. He really went the extra mile to assist me with my shopping. I'm so thankful for his help!
Halal food purchasing experience
I was really disappointed with the online ordering experience for halal food from this retailer. Saturday morning grocery shopping
This morning was a nightmare. The shops were so noisy and busy, I couldn't even think straight! I tried to complain, but it never helps. I might have to escalate this and consider reporting them to have their music license revoked! Plus, the staff is so inattentive and doesn't seem to care about us customers.
