Not bad in theory, messy in practice

I nearly didn’t sign up for the annual box because I could already hear the logistics nightmares in my head — as a working parent you worry about timing more than anything. Turns out those worries were pretty justified. We use these boxes for quick weekend craft sessions with the kids and to take the pressure off on busy evenings, so getting them around the right holiday matters. Halloween arrived well after the date, Thanksgiving turned up only a few days before and some of the little tins were bent to bits. By mid-December we still hadn’t seen the Christmas box and customer support kept pointing at their courier, no real fixes or gestures. I’ll give them that the concept is clever and when the stuff does arrive it’s fun and usable, but the repeated lateness and the shrug from support are annoying. For us it’s meant rescheduling family plans and extra trips to the shop. Could be a keeper if they tightened up shipping and offered a proper remedy when things go wrong, but right now I’d warn other busy parents to think twice.

the kids dived in, my seven-year-old actually read the instructions aloud and my three-year-old demanded another piece straight away. At that moment I stopped running through every negative review in my head and thought, right, this works for us. The activities are simple, not fussy, and the results taste decent — we liked the fudge fossils and the s'mores kit best, the Barbie one was OK, a bit gimmicky but it occupied them. The subscription bits deserve a mention: shipping can take a few weeks and it will auto-renew unless you cancel, that's in the small print so you do need to pay attention. I never contacted customer service, so no comment there, but nothing broke, nothing went missing, so far so good. My advice: try a short plan first, read the terms, and don't expect immediate delivery — then you won't be surprised. Slightly sceptical at first, relaxed and satisfied now; could be ideal for other parents who want low-effort activities. I'll probably reorder when a decent offer appears.
