I wouldn’t recommend this lightly, but after a lot of fiddling it does what we wanted. I first saw a photo on a forum and then Rebecca’s review pushed me over the line, so I already had low expectations. Conclusion first — not worth the price for the condition it arrived in, but usable once you work around the faults. The delivery was the first problem: we paid extra for White Glove FedEx and they sent one bloke who couldn’t manoeuvre the heavy 64" unit without risking our new floor. We ended up waiting 45 minutes for a second driver, so two hours in total just to get it inside, which annoyed everyone. When they’d gone we noticed three of the slanted legs were fitted the wrong way round — two front, one back — which makes the whole piece look off. It’s impossible to sit the legs in the right position without taking parts off, and by then the box had been taken away so returns were awkward. The paint was another issue: patchy on top, a few spots at the front missed, and some black marks along the bottom, which contradicts the QC sticker on the back. The electric insert also arrived in a separate box and was damaged, so there was a week before we could fully install it. That all sounds bleak, and it was, at first. But once we sorted the insert replacement and got extra hands to re-do the legs properly, it settled into the room and the fireplace works well enough — it’s quiet and warms the space. So, if you know what to expect and are ready to chase replacements and help with fitting, it can be worth the trouble. If you want a clean, hassle-free delivery and immaculate finish, look elsewhere.
Not what I expected, but in a good way
anti-snore modes, subwoofers, massage, Bluetooth, ambient lights… sounded a bit like a gadget more than a proper bed. I also worried about delivery, setup and whether the mattress would be too soft or too hard. Turns out most of those worries were unnecessary. Unboxing was straightforward: legs on, mattress bar on, plug it in — simple as that. The mattress isn’t one of those that takes ages to puff up; it came out of the wrap and settled almost immediately, which was handy. The tech bits are actually useful rather than gimmicky. Two remotes (batteries included) made sharing settings easy, and pairing my phone and TV via Bluetooth was dead simple. The subwoofers add a proper bit of presence for movie nights, and the ambient light is subtle enough not to feel tacky. The massage is gentle, not a clinic machine, but enough to relax you before sleep. The anti-snore position really helped reduce the noise for my partner — not magic, but noticeable. Comfort-wise the mattress hits a good middle ground: conforms where it needs to, with enough firmness to feel supportive. I’d still have liked clearer notes on warranty and a bit more detail on delivery timing up front, but customer service was responsive when I asked. Overall, my initial doubts faded quickly. It’s not perfect, and some features are more novelty than necessity, but for what we use it for — sleeping, watching films and a bit of weekend lounging — it’s been a proper upgrade.
