I’m much happier now than I was a few days ago. I ordered last Saturday for a birthday gift after having a really poor experience with another online shop, so no updates on my account made me panic a bit. The contact email bouncing back didn’t help either, if I’m honest. Thankfully, Nothing Fishy have since emailed to confirm the parcel is on its way, which was a relief. It’s not arrived yet, so I can’t comment on the product or subscription properly, but communication has improved and I’m glad it seems genuine after all.
Good capsules, confusing subscription setup
The Omega 3 capsules themselves are fine, actually better than I expected. I take them with breakfast most days and there is no lingering fishy taste afterwards, which was the main reason I tried them. They are small enough to swallow easily too. The issue is everything around the subscription. A payment of £22.95 was taken earlier than I needed another bottle, but when I logged in, I could not see an active order or subscription to change. I kept checking the same pages and getting nowhere. It is needlessly awkward. The company did contact me afterwards and offered a discount, which was a decent gesture, so that was a pleasant surprise. Still, I have received two different emails and I am not entirely sure whether the subscription is paused or not. So, good product, but I would be much happier if the account area made basic things clear. At the moment I am still waiting to see what happens next month.
Softgels are good, admin is not
a surprise parcel arrived in January even though I hadn't set up a subscription (or so I thought). I tried emailing twice and was told I'd get a reply in 48 hours, never heard back, so in the end I cancelled the PayPal auto‑pay to stop more unexpected boxes. Bit annoying, and it made me sceptical at first, but after the initial faff I'm quite happy with the softgels themselves. Just wish the account/subscription info and customer service were clearer.
A messy start with the powder
I cracked open the sachet on a slapdash Sunday morning while I was making porridge — first time using this particular unflavoured collagen. My previous experience with their classic supplements was okay (a bit pricey, but I kept telling myself that might help some ocean cause), so I wasn't expecting drama. The pouch had a damp ring inside as if a bit of water had got in. I complained and they sent a mango tub free, which I appreciated — decent customer service, really. They insisted the original was safe so I tried it anyway and, well, it tasted shockingly off, like something had gone mouldy; not dangerous-feeling, just really unpleasant, so after a few spoons I threw it away. The mango one was better on flavour, but maddeningly the top went slimy and after a few days the whole thing turned into damp clumps — proper wet balls that don't mix well into porridge and leave a weird texture and aftertaste. I'm glad they replaced it and responded quickly, that's why I say something positive, but I'm annoyed they chose powder in this packaging when a tablet or better sealing might have avoided all that. Also their marketing implies they're the pioneers of vegan collagen, which seems misleading given other products (VeCollal, etc.) have been around. Oh, and trying to upload photos to Trustpilot failed, and their own site doesn't allow reviews — odd.
