I'd been following this project for ages on LinkedIn and, I'll admit, I went into the box a bit sceptical. I roasted the whole bird on a quiet Sunday and halfway through the first carving, when the juices ran and the skin had a proper, gentle crisp, I actually felt relieved — that was the moment I knew I was pleased. It didn't blow me away or transport me straight back to some perfect European roast, but it wasn't bland either. Compared to the New York supermarket birds I'm used to it's about the same; compared to the local stuff in Costa Rica some of those felt juicier. Maybe that's down to breeds or feed, who knows. Overall I like the approach, it's honest and consistent. Would try again, and I appreciate they're trying something different, even if there's room to improve.
Worth the extra cost
In short, their chicken is worth it. It tastes better and I feel calmer about feeding it to my family. They clearly combine modern tech with old-fashioned grazing — you can see the thought in every step. It's sensible sustainability, not just a label. Energy choices look forward-thinking too; as transport goes electric this setup will only improve. It's not perfect. There are small bumps—occasional stock limits and a slightly higher price—but overall the quality and traceability make up for it. I also use examples in class; students notice the difference in texture and we talk about nutrient density. I’d like them to scale this model into more farms. If you care about clean, more nutritious meat and can budget for it, give it a try. Thanks to Paul Greive and the team for making it happen.
