The half-size made the difference
Standing by the LANX stand at Goodwood, I had only meant to have a quick look, but the half sizes changed things for me. Finding boots that do not pinch across the front of my feet is usually a bit of a faff, and the 7.5 felt noticeably better than settling for a 7 or 8. The person helping me was relaxed and knew the range without doing the hard sell, which I appreciated. I ordered a pair there and was told to expect them in the week beginning 30 September; the delivery update says they should turn up tomorrow, so that part has been handled as promised. They are not the cheapest boots, and I cannot say much yet about long-term comfort or wear. Still, for commuting, weekend walks and general everyday use, they seem a sensible investment. I was also pleasantly surprised to learn they are made in England.
The shoe box was the easy part
size down, check everything carefully, and don’t be in a rush for your refund.
Doubts gone after the first week
I nearly talked myself out of buying these because I wasn’t sure the price would feel justified, and sizing online is always a bit of a gamble. I started wearing them for work a few days after they arrived. At first they felt fairly firm, which I expected with proper leather, but they softened up quicker than I thought. Now they’re comfortable for a full day of walking about, without looking like the usual bulky work shoes. The finish is what stood out most to me; there’s a lot of care in the small details, but they don’t feel overly showy. I asked customer service about sizing before ordering and got a clear, useful reply. Delivery was straightforward too. Honestly, I’m relieved they lived up to the photos.
