Bought this mainly because my hair in the mornings was a mess and, to be honest, I hesitated at the price. First few weeks I used it every night and loved how sleek my hair looked — woke up with less frizz, job done. That said, the elastic worrying me from the start (felt a bit thin), and my worries came true. I had one before that lasted about two-and-a-half years, fine, but the replacement began sagging after roughly a year. It’s annoying because apart from the elastic it’s a clever little item, comfortable and effective. Would I buy again? Not at that price unless they sort the elastic. I’m a bit gutted, really.
Bit of a let-down
Honestly, not great — I wouldn't buy it again. I needed a decent bonnet to curb the constant frizz and protect my hair at night after a couple of dodgy colour treatments, but this just missed the mark. For the price I expected the inside to be softer; it's actually a bit rough and doesn't seem to tame the frizz. The elastic went loose within a few wears and it slips off unless I clip it, which then risks pulling at my strands. What's annoying is that right after I bought it they launched a double-lined adjustable version. So now I'm stuck with the old one and hesitant to spend again. I'm looking at small makers instead.
Late-night sceptic, pleasantly surprised
flimsy silk and slow delivery. That wasn't the case. The parcel arrived within two days, well packed, and the tracking was accurate. Customer service answered a question about sizes fast and without fuss. The pillowcase feels thicker than others I've tried. The wrap actually keeps hair smooth overnight. Tangled mornings are rarer now. I’ve had dodgy silk from cheaper brands before, so this was a relief. Dry to say, it helped. I'm pleased it arrived quickly and that support was good — made me feel confident buying. Glad I tried it. No drama with returns either, though I didn't need one.
Sleeper that actually helped
the fabric felt smoother and a touch heavier than other silk covers I’ve tried, not that slippery, more substantial. I usually blow-dry my curly hair straight and used to faff with a brush each morning. After the first full night on this case I didn’t need to touch up — that’s literally when I knew it was worth it. Frizz was down, style stayed, mornings got quicker. The real kicker, and I didn’t see this coming, was my skin: an active breakout started calming within about a week of switching. Not saying it’s a miracle, but I noticed less irritation and fewer angry spots. Minor quibble: it moves a bit if you shift loads in the night, but overall I’m properly pleased and using it every night now.
Morning-knots and a slightly annoying bonnet
the bonnet looked pricey and I kept thinking, will it stay on? Will it make me sweat? Will customer service be any good if it goes wrong? The pillow turned out to be a nice surprise — much comfier than I expected and my neck actually felt better, so that was a win. The scrunchies seem fine, haven’t used them long enough to evangelise yet, but they look sturdy. The bonnet though… that’s been a pain. It wouldn’t stay put, made my head hot and a bit itchy, and initially emails went nowhere, which didn’t help my nerves. In the end Silke did contact me and offered a partial refund since I’d missed the full-refund window — not perfect, but better than nothing. So I’m left a bit split: some good bits, one dud, customer service okay-ish after a slow start. Would I buy again? Maybe, but I’d be cautious.
