Ordered socks labelled as cotton but they were only about 55% — annoying. I sent them back and braced for a fight; surprisingly the returns portal was dead simple and the refund hit my account a few days later, if a bit smaller than I expected. So I was relieved more than pleased, odd as that sounds. Won't rush back though.
Half the order, decent socks
received only half the order and after a month of promises from Sock Snob and Debenhams to investigate, there's still no refund and little contact. I've had quicker refunds elsewhere, so that stings. Not perfect, but if you like the socks it's worth considering, with caution.
Small win, but a faff
Bought this a couple of weeks ago for my home setup and at first it seemed fine — neat packaging, item looked okay. Trouble started when I asked where the parcel was and the seller basically shrugged and told me to ring the courier myself. Not great, that. I returned the thing because it wasn't quite what I expected; they did refund the item after a few emails, so I was relieved, but they kept the shipping fee and waved away any responsibility. Felt skeptical at first, then a bit mollified when at least the main refund arrived — just annoying overall.
Three runs, one hole
I was a bit sceptical buying a third‑party pair through Decathlon — a mate recommended them so I tried. They felt fine at first. After three runs a hole showed in the big toe. I hesitated and complained; Decathlon were brilliant and pushed to sort it. Sock Snob, the maker, were slow and awkward. They refused replacement and after about six weeks offered half a refund, as if one hole halves the product. Eventually Decathlon secured a full refund. Won't trust Sock Snob again — shame, they were comfy.
Cosy but gone in hours
I grabbed a multipack of bamboo socks because I was heading off on a weekend doing loads of walking for work — long shifts on my feet, needed something soft. First pair I wore developed holes in both socks after only a few hours, proper holes, not just a wee snag. Then the same thing kept happening with other pairs, in different places each time, so I'm pretty sure it's not just bad luck. They are really soft and comfy though, which makes the whole thing oddly frustrating. I emailed customer service almost a week ago and only just discovered their reply stuck in my spam. To be fair, I’d already sent photos and the order number from the same email, and now they want more photos and the original invoice — a bit awkward and slow. I'm a little annoyed but also a bit amused at how quickly fabric can give up. Nice feel, terrible durability, sadly not for heavy use.
Quietly useful, but the delivery was a mess
DHL gave me the exact kind of slow, opaque service you hear about. Anyway, when the parcel finally turned up the boots themselves were exactly what I needed — surprisingly warm, decent build, and not awkward to wear all day in sub-zero temps. So, mixed feelings: delivery and tracking were frustrating and made me want to cancel, but the product delivered on the one thing that mattered to me. I’ll probably order the rest because they do what I need, but next time I’ll message the seller first about which shipper they’ll use (and maybe ask for an alternative). Might save a bit if you shop around, though.
Mismatched pair, decent delivery
they felt noticeably thicker and rougher than the original pair and after one five-mile walk they left me with a red itchy patch that only ever happens with wool. I know my skin; that reaction was unmistakable. I contacted customer service expecting at least some interest, maybe a check or an exchange idea, but got a flat “there’s no wool in them” reply and no willingness to inspect the pair if I offered to return them (I get the hygiene rule, but they didn’t even ask). That lack of curiosity or any remedial offer was the real issue — I’d have been satisfied with a simple explanation or a goodwill gesture. Oddly, the packaging included a tiny note about sustainability which I didn’t expect and found mildly reassuring, even if it didn’t change the outcome. Bottom line: delivery was solid, product inconsistency and customer service weren’t.
Ankle socks ordered, received heel socks
I was well gutted with my latest buy from Sock Snob. I thought I was getting ankle socks with a comfy flexible cuff, judging by the snaps on the website, card, and packaging. But when they finally arrived after ten long days, they were actually heel socks, way too small for what I needed. The difference between what I thought I was getting and what turned up was a huge let down, a complete waste of money. I was after ankle socks to go under my trousers, not trainer socks.
Quick delivery but issues with address
I was really happy with how fast my order arrived, but there was a big problem with the address on the package. The delivery company ended up taking it to the wrong place, so I had to go all the way to some random farmhouse to get it. It's annoying because all the other delivery companies know to deliver to my proper address where I pay council tax, which is my caravan. It was really frustrating and disappointing.
Diabetic-friendly socks
I bought some diabetic-friendly socks for my husband recently and I have to say, they are really good quality. Quick delivery, high quality baby socks, comfortable fit
