Odd start — my worry wasn't about price but the silence. I ordered a bulk set of toner cartridges in August and the seller put the order on hold for verification. Fair enough for a big order, but they never rang or emailed, so it felt like they expected confirmation in the post. After a couple of weeks we were down to the last cartridge, so I phoned on 26 August; they processed it and shipped the next day and it arrived on 1 September. Weirdly, the parcel was well packed and undamaged, which was a surprise. The trouble is the cartridges themselves. They left a chalky black residue around the insides of our Lexmark printers and one unit wasn't recognised when we slotted it in. That confirmed my original doubts about quality. I ended up buying an emergency cartridge locally, which was annoying. My advice — ring them first and try one cartridge before committing to a large batch.
Calm fix for a card glitch
I hit a billing error while buying printer ink; the card provider changed the billing address on the spot, but the shop still rejected the transaction. The rep from the card company stayed on the line while I phoned TomatoInk. He was patient, pragmatic and just got on with fixing it — we used the captured info and the order went through. It was a small thing but it mattered; I've had other retailers shrug and close the case, so this was pleasantly efficient. Also, I was a bit surprised by how robust their fraud checks are — a nuisance at first, but ultimately sensible. Dry, practical experience with helpful agent; good value for money, and credit where it's due to Kenneth and the team.
