Halfway through the first tub I realised I'd been worrying for nothing. Our picky year-old Leonberger had refused most brands and I'd spent ages swapping tins and raw packs, second-guessing every ingredient. I ordered Mersey Raw with a fair bit of scepticism and because the description looked sensible; we started using it straight away at lunchtime and the first meal was, honest to say, better than expected. She finished it without the usual sniffing and walking off, and that reaction stuck around. Packaging is practical — 500g tubs that don't leak — and next-day delivery actually arrived as promised. Subscribing felt logical after a couple of deliveries; life is a bit easier now.
Little grumbles, big improvement
Strange start — I didn’t think raw food would be this easy to live with, but it kind of is. The packs thaw quickly, portioning is simple and the mince has a genuine meaty smell (not nasty, just proper). My old dog has a handful of health problems and moves better since we switched to these complete mixes; she’s keener to eat and seems less stiff. Customer service are on it too, quick replies and the odd overnight delivery even on a weekend, which helps when you’re running low. Only niggle is price — not cheap — and I’d like clearer portion guidance. Still, overall solid product, I’d recommend giving it a go if you want something that feels natural and works.
Two ferals and a tub
Halfway through a Tuesday I was elbow-deep in soggy tins and two suspicious young cats, Floki and Helga, deciding enough faff — time to try raw. I'd been through the pricey pâtés and high-meat cans, and honestly, most ended up half-eaten and a bit ... gross. Litter trays were a nightmare, soft smelly poo, lots of cleaning. Mersey Raw cropped up in my search as a local outfit with click-and-collect, so I poked about the website, ordered a handful of different proteins, and chose collection because I liked the idea of skipping a courier. Collection was dead simple, the staff were friendly, and they packed everything tidily — tubs that actually reseal, no leaks, bless them. Within a week the bowls were empty, the trays much better, and the cats have opinions (wild rabbit and oily fish are the winners so far). I've had mixed luck with other suppliers before — late deliveries, ruined packs — so it's nice to be pleasantly surprised. All in all, relieved and oddly grateful; good product, local people who know what they're doing, and quick replies.
