Opened the box on a quiet Sunday and found a small nick on the playing surface. Mel at GammonVillage sorted the return and upgrade quickly, very professional. We started using the upgraded board tonight; it feels solid and much nicer. A bit annoying at first, but the smooth customer service and fast delivery turned it round.
Half-wary purchase
Wasn't sure at first — it felt expensive so I hesitated. I bought it and tried it that weekend; the faux leather on the first set peeled straight away. Slightly annoying. Customer service swapped it without fuss and the replacement, used the same night, was actually fine — better finish, no smudges. So my doubts faded, though I did have to chase them briefly.
Pretty, but too big for my board
the colours are truly gorgeous, they catch sunlight in a way that made me actually smile. They're also pleasantly weighty. Also, weirdly, a couple smell faintly of vanilla — odd but pleasant. But the problem is size: labelled 1¾" (about 44.5 mm) yet most pieces tip over 45 mm, some noticeably so. The result: you can't fit six across the homeboard, doh — they just jam. Lovely to look at, useless for my board. Regret the purchase.
