By the time I opened the files I was already thinking "hope they get the military bits right" — I’d been putting off this civilian leap for years after 14+ years in the forces and a couple of poor CV attempts. They turned jargon into plain English and even flagged up skills I hadn't thought marketable. Delivery was quick, about four working days, and the layout is tidy. The cover letter template actually felt tailored. I still had a few tiny edits, but overall my doubts vanished.
Quick, polite but not magic
Funny thing — the package arrived on time, a bit earlier than I expected. I paid for the premium tier because of the interview guarantee and promise of targeted help. They did two resumes, a cover letter, tailored emails and a LinkedIn tidy-up. I’ve applied to thirty-plus roles in two days, and so far not a single reply, which is worrying. Support staff were polite and replied quickly, but haven't really addressed the guarantee. My writer was friendly, but I don't think she had Mental Health Tech experience. Ask for a sector specialist.
Name slip, slow start, decent finish
By the second week I’d already lost patience. The premium package promised a first draft in four days; the writer only contacted me after eight and called me "Kelly" instead of my actual name — a small thing but it set alarm bells ringing. I’ve used a couple of other CV services before and they at least get names and timings right, so I assumed it was a fluke. I messaged support, they apologised and said extra checks had taken time, which might be fair but they hadn’t bothered to tell me, so I asked for a reassignment. After a slow patch the new writer produced a solid, tailored draft that fixed the earlier errors and actually felt like someone had read my brief. My mood shifted from sceptical to reasonably pleased, though I still think timelines should be non-negotiable at this price. I asked about a refund, they offered options, but I took the reassignment — not ideal, yet it did finally deliver. If you’re considering them, be ready to follow up and insist on clear dates.
Small but solid win for my CV
I first came across this service on LinkedIn — one of those sponsored posts that didn’t look too shouty — and thought, why not give the basic resume package a go. I told a mate at work who’s been job-hunting too, and we both decided to try it out, partly because it was quick and seemed straightforward. I wasn’t expecting miracles, just something that made my early-career engineer CV read a bit sharper.
Not worth the fee
I didn't get what I paid for. I use this when applying for jobs every week and wanted an expert human to sharpen my CV. Instead the first draft checked out as AI on two detectors. I complained and they moved me to Sadie. She tidied the layout and the turnaround was quicker than I expected, which was a small surprise, but her summary misrepresented my background and the rest of the CV had a couple of odd grammar slips that sounded non-native. I still suspect AI was used. Overall, not a good spend for me. I rely on a tidy CV for weekly job applications, so these errors do matter.
