easy to use, fun editing bits, and it’s great for discovering stuff. The recommendation algorithm genuinely finds things I enjoy, though every so often it takes me down a weird rabbit hole. I’d say it’s a solid experience with room for improvement on community moderation and reporting. Still, I wouldn’t stop using it — too many good things to miss. If someone asked for a tip, I’d say try it for a week and see — tell a mate to show you the best creators, that’s how I got into it. Not perfect, but enjoyable and keeps getting better.
Bittersweet — useful but shaky support
I started using TikTok to drive traffic to my tiny craft shop and, honestly, I was nervous about putting all my eggs in one basket. Before I committed I worried about what would happen if the algorithm turned on me or support was rubbish. Turns out some worries were justified. The app itself is great for quick reach and I did see decent sales at first, which was lovely, but when my videos suddenly stopped showing in the main discovery feed I ran into a proper mess. The in-app help is mostly bots, the appeals form felt broken, and content was labelled wrong so things got buried. Sometimes the restriction lifts, sometimes it comes back — with no human explanation. They keep nudging you to pay for boosts while your organic reach gets strangled, which is frustrating. I’m still using it, but with a lot more caution than before.
Annoying password loop ruined a good morning
I’ve been using the app on and off for a while — at first it was handy and a bit fun, nothing special, but it did the job. Then last week I tried to log into one account and everything went sideways. I clicked “need help to login”, typed my email, got the six‑digit code, entered it and the app immediately bounced me to a screen that said “enter new password” — and then, in the blink of an eye, asked for my existing password. Err… I said I’d forgotten it. Which password should I type? I only had five attempts, so I sat there panicking because I had a video to upload. Support? Probably days. That password reset loop is the main issue for me — it’s baffling and frankly a basic QA miss. On top of that, verification texts to my phone often don’t work, so I had to use a PC and email to get back in. And yeah, a handful of my videos were flagged for no clear reason, which is annoying but at least recoverable. I do still like how quick and snappy the app normally feels (there’s a bit of enjoyment there), but these login bugs are the sort of thing that kills the experience. Needs proper fixes and faster support.
