I bought one of these on a whim and somehow now own three. I use them every day for shakes, water and the odd recovery drink — so they're properly put through their paces. The thing that wins it for me is the chill; after a sweaty evening session I can still sip something cool rather than a warm sludge. Being stainless means I don't get that gross leftover protein pong if I forget to wash it overnight, which with my memory is a relief. The lid's rounded rather than covered in fiddly fins so you can actually scrub right in without hunting for trapped gunk. I went for the Pro model and it does feel a bit more grown-up: a soft silicone base so it doesn't make that hollow clunk on the kitchen counter (yes, I notice these things) and a rubberised bit around the mouth that gives some forgiveness if you don't click the lid perfectly — less risk of drips down your gym bag. The little whisk ball? I hardly use it. Works fine, but another thing to clean, so I mostly shake and go. It's not flawless — the Pro is pricier and the lid sometimes needs a proper twist to be leakproof — but for daily use it's robust and easy to live with. Also worth a shout for the customer support: I had to sort a niggle and Ben and the team were helpful, really did go beyond what I'd expect from a small company. All in all, a practical bit of kit that feels well made and doesn't pretend to be fancy. Would buy again, and probably will.
Surprisingly brilliant
Halfway through a long walk I was glad I bought this — I almost didn’t because I doubted it would keep drinks cold. Turns out it does. Bought a couple more colours and sent one to a mate. Would tell anyone to try.
Bright but a bit let down
when it arrived there were tiny plastic shavings hanging off the inside and I found bits when rinsing it. I know it’s not marketed as totally plastic-free, but that was still off-putting — makes you wonder what you’re mixing into your drink. I’ve used all-plastic shakers before and they at least didn’t have bits flaking off like that. Secondly, it doesn’t mix protein powders very well. Even with a decent shake I still get clumps, especially with thicker powders. If you use Huel or similar, you’ll probably spend a minute sipping the lumpier bits before adding more water. The inside of the lid has a twisted moulding — maybe meant to help break things up — but it just traps powder and is a faff to clean. I’m not always great at rinsing straight away, so that becomes an annoyance. The lid also feels fiddly to line up; a couple of times I thought it was secure and it wasn’t, which set me on edge a bit. On the plus side, for £20 I thought the price was reasonable and the bottle looks smart enough, and it does feel robust. Delivery was slower than expected though — paid for next day, took four days. So overall: nice colour and build, but the lid and mixing performance let it down for me. I’d probably try a different brand next time, unless they fix the lid and the flaking plastic.
