I needed a proper wheeled cooler because I’ve got a dodgy back and lifting heavy boxes or coolers is a bad idea. I chose a Blue Coolers 60qt — which, FYI, is sold under Caddis Sports — thinking I’d pay for something sturdy and convenient. First box turned up with a screw jutting out of the wheel assembly so the front wheel wouldn’t rotate. In other words, a wheeled cooler that doesn’t wheel. Classic.
So I arranged a return and was told a replacement was shipped the same day I dropped the broken one off (they said March 23rd). Trouble was, UPS tracking showed the label being created a day later and pickup two days later than the date they claimed. I pointed that out and got a very formulaic reply blaming the carrier, no real acknowledgement of the mismatch, which felt a bit shruggy.
Replacement arrived on March 30th — same screw, same stuck wheel. At that point I’d had enough and asked for a full refund; not interested in a third try. They did give me a return label and processed the refund without much argument, for which I’m grateful — that part eventually worked out. But the whole experience involved a lot of back-and-forth, waiting, and scripted customer service replies with no apology, no attempt at fixing things properly, and no goodwill gesture for the hassle.
What frustrated me most was the mismatch between the premium price and the quality control plus the customer-facing attitude. Two defective units in a row suggests issues at the factory or packing, and the responses felt outsourced and not particularly accountable. I ended up ordering a YETI instead and that has been a relief, honestly.
If you need a wheeled cooler because of mobility or back problems, be cautious buying from Blue Coolers / Caddis Sports — the refund came through in the end, so at least that worked, but it was more faff than it should have been.
