Right, so here’s the long-ish version — I’ve ended up with three scooters from the same brand and it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster. First one, a Mantis X Plus, had the rear mudguard break off; they sent a replacement quickly and that actually impressed me. Then a Warrior X Plus arrived with a dead battery, they replaced it after a bit of faffing and it worked fine. That’s why I trusted them and bought the Warrior 11 Max. Big mistake. The throttle on this one feels like it’s got a mind of its own — it’ll surge without you touching it, lights flicker, and the controls behave oddly. It’s properly unnerving, especially when indicators set off the horn or changing gears jumps several modes at once. Felt unsafe. I tried to get support but it’s been slow and rather unhelpful this time, which is frustrating after earlier, quicker fixes. I do appreciate the earlier replacements — at least those showed they can get things sorted — and I’m glad nothing worse happened when the 11 Max started glitching. Still, the new controller/throttle setup looks untested and I’d rather not risk it. If you’ve had decent experiences with other companies, you might find this one a step back. All in all I’m relieved it didn’t end badly, but disappointed enough that I won’t buy from them again.
Power hiccup but decent recovery
Strangely, the very first time I tried to switch it on the Kaabo GTR felt dead — charged the pack, put it together, pushed the button and nothing. Bit of a pain, especially on day one, but I emailed support and then phoned. The person I got (Lewis) stuck with me on the phone, talked me through checking the battery plug and the connectors, and even helped with a couple of settings so it would register. It was a bit of faff at first, but his calm and patient guidance sorted everything; you could tell he knew his stuff. Now I ride it most days for the commute and for quick trips to the shops, and it feels sturdy, responsive and comfortable enough — suspension soaks up potholes better than I expected. Brakes are predictable, throttle is smooth once configured, and the weight gives it a reassuring feel. I do wish it hadn’t had that out-of-the-box problem — quality control could be tighter — but I’m genuinely pleased with how it performs and with the aftercare. All things considered, glad I stuck with it.
