    Not the full tour we booked

    30. They did email about the Sistine being closed, fair enough, but the St Peter's slot we paid for never happened. Our guide was pleasant enough but shrugged and said it wasn't his problem, it was the agency's. That left a sour taste; you feel a bit like you've paid for VIP access and got the cheap seats. We even saw other groups with a Basilica VIP pass and a guide — the same thing we paid €218 for. Been on better tours with other companies, so a bit disappointed and annoyed.

    Airport booking, mixed day

    the meeting point printed on the ticket wasn’t where the group actually gathered, so we missed roughly half the tour and by then it felt wasted. The guide we eventually found was fine, no complaints, but losing time hurt, especially for €256 covering Sagrada Familia and Park Güell. I asked Tiqets for a partial refund and they refused. Lesson learned — try to contact someone live before the tour to confirm meeting details; I tried from the US but couldn’t get through. Mixed bag: smooth booking, poor on-the-ground coordination.

    Wrong city, helpful staff

    they patiently checked things, handed me the email address for Tiqets and tried to help. Tiqets, by contrast, were flat; they pointed to their non‑refund policy on the website and wouldn't budge, even when I explained it was an honest error. Sea Life said they'd have normally given a refund but couldn't since we bought through a third party. So it's a mixed bag — the experience at Sea Life was good and the staff were empathetic, ticket delivery was OK, but Tiqets' customer service left me frustrated. Not perfect, but still usable; next time I'll book direct to avoid the faff.

    Dim church, no wine

    I was half-imagining candlelight and a glass of local wine when I booked what was billed as an "arias" concert in Rome through Tiqets — so I had that little nagging doubt. I hesitated because the photos looked theatrical and the event page promised free wine during the interval; we were actually booking a small anniversary outing and I didn't want it to be a damp squib. Turned out my suspicions were justified. The venue was a poorly lit little church, the "ensemble" was one pianist and two singers, there was no interval (so no wine), and the programme was shorter than the site suggested. I emailed Tiqets asking for a partial refund; they were polite but kept saying they'd investigate and blaming their supplier. That whole "we can't reach them" line went on for weeks and felt like being fobbed off. The tickets themselves worked fine and the music was decent — so I'm not saying it was terrible — but the misleading info and the customer service left me miffed. Won't be booking blind from their descriptions next time.

This was the opposite: clear emails, decent customer service and that “high-touch” of follow-up information. It’s tempting to grumble about price though. After my trip I checked the app stores and saw angry reviews mainly about cost. I did end up paying noticeably more than the direct museum price on occasion — maybe 30–50% extra in places — but for me the convenience of an all-in-one last-minute solution plus those practical alerts made it acceptable.
    So yes, initially sceptical about the markup, but the experience swung that to satisfied. Would I use them again? Probably, especially if I’m short on planning time. If I had weeks to spare I’d price-compare first, but I’d miss those little reminders that actually improved the visit.

    Hollywood sign Walking Tour

    Our time on the Hollywood Sign Walking Tour was amazing, all thanks to our brilliant guide JB. He really knew his stuff about the history and importance of the Hollywood Sign, and took us on a fascinating journey right up close to this famous landmark. JB's love for the area was clear in every part of the tour, and his friendly nature made it even better. The views from the top were truly stunning, and we're so thankful to JB for making this trip one to remember. We definitely recommend this tour to anyone who wants to discover the beauty of the Hollywood Sign.

    Scenic views, misinformation about closure

    I was a bit let down by the wrong info about the Mount Faber closure, despite the amazing views. We got an email saying it was shut and a shuttle was on offer, but when we got there, it was actually open. It would have been handy to know that in advance.

    Family ghost tour

    The family ghost tour was a big hit with my two sons, aged 12 and 9. The tour guide managed to tell ghost stories and crack jokes which created a really cool atmosphere that kept all of us entertained. We caught a taxi from Cala’n Bosch to get there, cost us €10. It was a convenient and reasonably priced trip overall. Definitely worth it for a fun and slightly spooky family day out.

    Taxi-boat service review

    I was really disappointed with the taxi-boat service. Even though we were the first ones to be picked up, there were already 13 other passengers and their suitcases in the vehicle - designed to hold a maximum of 10 passengers. To make matters worse, we had to wait an extra 20 minutes for a couple who were running late, causing a further delay to our journey. It was not the experience I had in mind at all.

    Efficient ticket purchase process

    I had a really good time buying tickets on this website. The lady I spoke to was really helpful and quick, she saw us and came over straight away with our tickets ready. She also gave us some useful tips on how to make the most of our tour. Everything went really well and it was all really easy, making the whole experience great. The prices were good too, giving us good value for what we got.

    Mozart Concert at Musikverein in Vienna

    I can't believe how amazing the Mozart concert we went to at the Musikverein Venue in Vienna was! It was so cool! The app we used to book our tickets was really easy to use, plus it sent me a reminder before the event which was handy. The concert itself was absolutely incredible - the musicians were so talented, and there was even a flute performance (I actually play the flute myself!). Our seats were good, the acoustics were fantastic, and the staff even helped me out when I mentioned my knee injury by showing me where the elevator was. Overall, it was such a fantastic experience and I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

    Train ride from airport to termini

    The train journey from the airport to the terminus made a big difference for us on our first visit to Rome. It was not just fast and simple, but also really affordable, which was a huge relief as we were already struggling with jetlag. The staff member by the gate was incredibly helpful and friendly, helping us change our tickets to the right time and giving us clear instructions on what to do next. Thanks to this easy way of traveling, we could explore the city comfortably and are looking forward to taking the train again when we come back to Rome for our flight home.

    Charged without permission

    I'm shocked they took money from my account without even checking with me first! I'm just a student so every penny really does count. I noticed charges on my account that I didn't authorise. When I reached out to them, they pretended they had no clue about what was going on. It's so annoying! Just a heads up, watch out as they might try to pull the same thing on you.

    First-time attraction ticket purchase

    This was our first time buying tickets for attractions overseas, and we were really pleased with how well everything was communicated to us before the events. The guides we met were really good at their jobs and clearly loved what they did, which made our trip even better. It was especially nice that, during visits to different places, the guide would let us go at our own speed towards the end.

    Aussie booking, easy payment, great value

    Essentials Pass with Public Transport Card

    I used the Essentials Pass along with the Public Transport Card and everything went really smoothly. I made sure to download the audio guides in advance with just one download each. When I got to Terminal 2 railway station, I had to head down to a lower floor to print out the transport cards - it would have been useful to have more information about this beforehand. The timed fast track entry to Park Güell and Sagrada Familia ended up saving me a lot of time, which was great.

    Super cool app

    This app is really straightforward to use! There are loads of different options to pick from and it even reminds you about your tickets. I like how it tells you exactly where to go to get your tickets in town and which entrance to use to avoid the queue. That's the best part about getting tickets this way - no hanging around! I'll definitely use this app again in the future.
