I didn't expect to start a Saturday faff over a delivery, but there we were. To be clear, the MJ pens themselves are top notch — I've been on the Conti Maintenance Plan since 2025 and they're reliable, so that was a nice surprise. The problem was the delivery and silence from Oushk. I paid extra for an exact Friday delivery, but DPD only collected on that same Friday and it pushed the arrival to Saturday when no one was home. Because these pens need refrigeration, that was worrying; I almost assumed it was a write-off. Emails went unanswered which was the most annoying bit. To be fair, when the parcel finally arrived the insulation and cold pack were actually decent, which saved the contents more than I expected. So thumbs up for packing, not so great on communication and timing. I've had better replies from other suppliers, but still like the product.
That moment I knew things would be okay
I made a silly typo when I signed up (of course I did) and missed all the emails. At first it was just a small irritation, then it became this whole faff of chasing people while trying to do my day job. The first person I spoke to on the phone told me to ring back nearer dispatch, which wasn't going to work because I had a consultation to fit in. The next day a different advisor said she’d send the emails immediately. I waited. Nothing. So I emailed the pharmacy directly and they acknowledged my updated address — which, well, I’d already told them about — but still no emails landed in my inbox.
Then the turning point: a chap answered my call the following day and he actually sorted it. He cancelled and rebooked my consultation, and the confirmation emails came through straight away. That was the exact moment I felt relief — actually proper relief. The consultation itself went smoothly; the clinician was friendly and made a point of saying that missing uploads is a common issue and that they’d try to make things clearer for new customers. She asked if I had scales and photo ID ready, which I didn’t, because, again, I hadn’t seen the earlier messages. She was fine about it and organised a separate weight verification to happen later. I haven’t heard back about that bit yet, but the willingness to help on the call was reassuring.
There are still bumps. I’ve uploaded the same photos and details multiple times and the form doesn’t seem to save reliably, which is annoying. The mobile site is clunky — I couldn’t even open my own attachments on my phone, so most of the fiddling had to wait until I was on my laptop in the evening. That made me have to ring while juggling work, which is never ideal. The messaging system is handy, though I’d really appreciate email or SMS alerts when a new message arrives — that’s how other providers keep things moving and it would have saved me a lot of chasing.
All in all, it’s not flawless, but I’m happy with how it ended up. The real difference was that one helpful person who took ownership and actually fixed things in minutes. If I had one tip for others, check your email twice when registering and try to ring at quieter times if you can. And for the provider: sort the mobile uploads and add notifications — it would make life so much easier for everyone. I’m glad I stuck with it; could be smoother, but it works.Delivery kerfuffle turned out alright
someone explained DPD had stopped using pickup points, which, frankly, is annoying and they should warn you. The rep at Oushk immediately recalled the parcel and arranged a new one with Royal Mail. DPD then tried to complicate things by attempting a re-delivery, but Connor and the team kept on it and got everything sorted. Parcel turned up at a Royal Mail pickup point the next day, just in time. So yes, I had doubts before buying and a few headaches after, but their quick handling made me glad I went ahead.
Sorted when postie went rogue
tracking said delivered but my security cam showed no one had left the parcel. I messaged customer service and they sorted a replacement really quickly, no faff. In the end the postie turned up the next evening so I cancelled the spare pen, but the way they handled it made a big difference. Not perfect — a bit nerve-wracking — but overall I’m happy.
Box-on-table moment
tea, dog out, pills lined up and an extra ten minutes to breathe. The staff eventually replied (slowly, but they did), and one person clearly went the extra mile to sort the admin. Not perfect — I still check things myself — but it works, and it feels reliable enough that I don't dread refills anymore. I'm pleasantly surprised, really. Would recommend if you want a fairly hands-off system for daily meds, as long as you keep an eye on the reminders yourself. Worth it, I reckon.
