In short, clever concept but too many hiccups for my liking. I signed up as a birthday surprise for my husband in January and right away things felt a bit off. The first box had the wrong code in it, so we had to wait a few days for a reply (usually about three to five days) — annoying. Then February sent a dispatch email but nothing arrived; after another slow exchange we were told they'd run out of that month's whisky and to pick an alternative. Credit where it's due, that replacement did arrive, eventually. March so far has been silent and I've emailed again, expecting another wait. The whisky itself is fine, nothing mind-blowing but perfectly drinkable, so it's not all doom and gloom. It's the waiting that gets you — the waiting and the chases. If you don't mind a bit of faff, it can work, but if you want reliability, I'd be cautious.
Late tracking, decent follow-up
a tracking code showed up a couple of days later. Then nothing. Two weeks went by and the tracker stayed frozen. I messaged customer support and they said they’d dispatch another box. Same day I got a new tracking number. Again, no movement. Annoying, but not the end of the world. After I asked for a refund they actually replied properly by email, agreed to cancel and process the refund and even offered a few samples to make up for it. I had to chase once more for confirmation, but in the end they sorted it. Still wary, but relieved it was handled.
Not perfect, but proper useful
I spotted this subscription on a mate’s Instagram story and was unsure at first — worried the samples would be tiny, or that the selection would be a bit hit-and-miss. I’ve had it for a couple of years now and most of those doubts faded, though to be fair a few stuck around. The recyclable pouches are clever and they do fit through the letterbox, which makes life easier, and the drams are generally interesting — some real gems, some that I’d skip next time. Delivery has been mostly reliable but once or twice it arrived later than expected. Cost-wise it’s worth it if you like trying different bottles without buying full-size ones. Not flawless, but does what it says and I keep renewing.
