my first name had ended up where my surname should be. I used Opodo for two airline bookings and assumed a typo would be routine to fix. At first I was doubtful, as messages and calls went nowhere. I got one booking amended directly with the airline, but the other remained unresolved after over a week. I knew I was partly sorted when the corrected confirmation arrived, although that came from my own chasing. My Prime membership did not seem to make a difference to the support I received.
The payment limbo is the worst bit
Honestly, the money sitting in pending is what has annoyed me most. I was trying to arrange this trip after a previous travel mix-up, so I needed the booking sorted quickly. The booking page took ages, then my two-part journey seemed to go through, only for an email to say one leg had been cancelled. My card was still showing the full amount as pending. Maybe it will drop off, but nobody made that clear. I’m now reluctant to rebook in case I’m charged twice.
eDreams Prime: Misleading, Manipulative, and Not Worth It
eDreams Prime has been nothing but a scam for me. I was charged £100 after forgetting to cancel, and instead of a proper refund they gave me £50 back and a so called £45 “credit” that was actually a voucher requiring a £150 spend. When I tried to book a £124 flight, their site blocked me for days with the same useless “try later” message while the price climbed. Customer service insisted the flight was sold out, yet I bought it instantly on the airline’s own website. After complaining, they told me to try another computer — and suddenly the same flight appeared, but now at £185. I never managed to buy anything through eDreams, and every step felt misleading, manipulative, and designed to squeeze more money out of me. Prime is absolutely not worth it.
Flight
I had an absolutely terrible experience…
I had an absolutely terrible experience with this app and would never use it again.
They initially accepted and confirmed my flight booking, only to cancel it later without providing a proper solution. What made things even worse was the refund process—it took over a month to receive any money back, and even then, I only received a partial refund.
Now they are refusing to refund the remaining amount, claiming the airline has not refunded them and telling me to contact the airline directly. This is completely unacceptable because I booked through Opodo, not the airline. As the booking agent, it is their responsibility to resolve refund issues with the airline, not push customers from one company to another.
Their customer service is practically non-existent. Responses are slow, unhelpful, and they take no ownership of the problem. Once they have your money, you're left to deal with the mess yourself.
Avoid this app if you value your time, money, and peace of mind. There are far more reliable travel booking platforms with customer support that actually helps. I deeply regret using this service and will never book through them again.
REFERENCE NUMBER: 25178649047My experience with Opodo has been extremely disappointing.
My experience with Opodo/EDreams has been extremely disappointing.
I booked a Loganair flight through the Opodo website. The flight was delayed for several hours, cancelled, and I was rebooked onto a later flight which was also heavily delayed. As the purpose of my trip had been lost, I spoke directly to Loganair staff at the airport, who cancelled my journey, returned my luggage and told me that my ticket would be refunded.
Since then, I have been passed back and forth between Opodo and Loganair for weeks. Opodo refuses to refund my ticket because Loganair has incorrectly marked me as a "No Show", despite the fact that I have boarding passes, baggage tags and proof that I checked in and was present at the airport throughout the disruption.
To make matters worse, I later discovered that I had apparently been enrolled in an Opodo Prime membership during the booking process without knowingly intending to subscribe. I only became aware of this when my credit card was charged £99 for an annual renewal. I contacted Opodo immediately to cancel and request a refund, but this was refused.
What I find particularly frustrating is that Opodo promotes Prime as offering benefits and assistance with flight bookings and disruptions, yet when my own flight was cancelled, I received no meaningful help in obtaining the refund. Instead, I was left to chase both Opodo and the airline, with each referring me to the other.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Opodo. Customer service has been frustrating, resolving issues has been unnecessarily difficult, and I have been left out of pocket despite having clear evidence to support my claims.Muddled but eventually sorted
By the time the €99.99 annual charge hit our credit card I was half convinced we’d made a terrible mistake. We’re both over 70 and not exactly confident with online forms, so before buying the Cyprus tickets in March I worried about hidden extras and subscriptions — those doubts were there from the start. The booking itself went fine, check‑in worked, the tickets arrived, and for a while I thought “right, that wasn’t so bad.” Then a year later the subscription fee appeared and that worry came back. The E‑Dreams site was confusing about how to cancel — it only lets you switch something off for one year, which isn’t helpful if you want a proper refund. We couldn’t contact them directly, which was frustrating, but after pestering the bank we managed to get the charge reversed. I’m relieved and quietly grateful the bank helped, even though dealing with the site and the hidden terms was a nuisance. Useful for occasional bookings, but check every checkbox carefully and keep an eye on your statements.
Late-night mix-up, but they sorted it
I arrived after a long drive with a stiff back and just wanted a bed. The booking looked fine in my premium account, not the trial. But at reception they said the hotel hadn’t been paid. That was awkward. I spent nearly an hour arguing and showing confirmations while trying to get through to priority support — no answer, chat silent. In the end I paid again to get some rest. I was sceptical, annoyed, yes. Next morning Edreams did get back to me, asked for the invoice and processed a refund within a few days. The app and booking flow feel tidy, but the human side was flaky this time. So it started badly, then they actually followed through. I’d use them again, but with a backup plan. And yes, I’ll double-check payments next time, lesson learned.
App still showed it
if you want fewer headaches, book with the carrier. Bit annoyed, to be honest. Small warning.
Not great customer care
Honestly, I wouldn’t use them again — that’s the short version. I booked a flight for a family trip and had to cancel thirty minutes later because of a personal issue; I expected at least a decent gesture but they offered only £132 back on a ticket that cost me over £360. When I asked about changing dates they said I’d need to top up another £200-plus. No sympathy, very transactional. It’s useful sometimes for quick searches, but their customer care needs a reality check.
Hold vanished, told to wait
don't rely on the hold without screenshotting, or be ready to wait.
Renewal charged despite same-day cancellation
my bank's fraud team was quick to help and I've started a dispute and reported the case. It wasn't what I expected from a big booking site — disappointing and worrying.
Membership wasn’t worth it
check the airline price first and read the small print before you sign up. I’d recommend avoiding the membership unless you hunt discounts often.
Late-night scramble and a subscription sting
double-check all the subscription boxes, ring the airline first, and consider travel insurance. Lesson learnt. Slightly better ending than I feared, but I’d be cautious and not assume Prime will bail you out.
Booked on a whim
I first saw eDreams on a mate's travel blog and thought I'd give it a go. The booking process felt clunky — a lot of pages, auto-fills that didn't match, and then a charge appeared on my card without any email heads-up. I rang support (waited ages, over 40 minutes, then dropped) which felt dodgy. In the end they refunded after a complaint, and I'm oddly relieved — still annoyed about the noise, but glad it was sorted.
Booking was fine, refund not
I booked with eDreams because I had to fly home for a family emergency. The booking itself was smooth and I was relieved the confirmation came through, so I was grateful. Then the airline cancelled the flight and eDreams emailed saying a full refund would take up to 30 days. It's now been 60 and I haven't had anything. I've phoned and emailed several times with no reply. Good when things go well, lousy when they don't; I'm filing a complaint.
Gate panic then relief
I booked my flight through eDreams a week before travelling and the PDF arrived fast, so I was fairly impressed at first. At the gate though, there was a moment of panic — staff said my ticket didn't include baggage despite the confirmation showing it did. I tried the chat and phoned but didn't get an answer immediately, which was annoying. After some back-and-forth and a follow-up complaint, eDreams refunded the baggage charge and apologised, and that was the exact moment I felt proper satisfied. Relief more than anything, grateful they eventually made it right and saved the day. Would use them again, albeit cautiously.
Mixed-bag experience
no email support, only online chat and you wait, like, about an hour each time. A few days after paying they quietly saved my card and charged a “prime” fee I didn’t expect. Also conversion fees pop up even though they invoice local rates, billed later. Strange bright spot: when you finally get through the chat the agent can actually sort a billing mistake, so it’s a bit useful, just clunky and risky if you need help fast.
Booked, billed, bothered
prices match what you can get elsewhere, the app slipped in an auto-renewal fee I only spotted later, and cancelling felt like wading through menus that want you to give up. I use it for work trips and the extra hassle just adds stress. Customer support was curt and unhelpful — polite, no; useful, definitely not. Bit of a regret, to be honest.
Bit of a let-down
I spotted the eDreams Plus offer after a mate sent me the link and I was, to be honest, a bit sceptical — almost didn't go for it. The booking itself went through fine, but at check‑in the airline told us our 'included' cabin bag wasn't actually allowed and we had to buy an extra for a ridiculous price. I rang the premium helpline afterwards; they outright accepted the mistake but then refused a refund, even after I asked several times. Strangely the helpline staff were polite and quick, which made the whole thing oddly frustrating. So yeah, not impressed.
Phone calls, fees and a nice app
My verdict is simple — I wouldn't touch eDreams again. I signed up for their 15‑day trial last month, booked a flight and a hotel because the app looked tidy and everything seemed straightforward; first impressions were good. I cancelled the trial before it ended, or so I thought, but then two Apple Pay charges appeared for monthly subs I never agreed to. The support call was awful — brushed off, shrugged, no answers — which is the worst bit. Oddly, confirmations arrived fast and that surprised me in a good way. I tried disputing via Apple Pay but the whole process was a faff and a time sink; not worth spending hours on, so it left a bad taste.
