I downloaded the app one evening after work, idly filled in a profile and before I knew it they’d taken me down the route of a yearly subscription. I cancelled within a few hours — honestly, I did — but the whole experience felt cold and automated. The site itself looks fine and swipes work, but you don’t get a proper trial and the renewal bits are tucked away. I ended up worrying about fake profiles and the usual catfish stuff while scrolling at night, which is not what I wanted. Customer replies were canned, and they did hint at debt collection over a small fee (£57), which I pushed back on. Useful enough for a quick browse, but I’d be cautious and check the small print first.
Not what I expected
I signed up thinking a pricey, well-known dating site would actually work for someone in their sixties — sadly that isn’t been the case for me. The main issue (and I can’t stress it enough) is the lack of people in my age group, so matches have been few and often not relevant. It feels a bit like being in the wrong club; the algorithm seems tuned for younger users and I ended up swiping on the same handful of profiles. On the plus side the interface is tidy and easy to use, no drama there. I just wish they’d be honest about who’s actually on the platform, or offer better filters for older users. If you’re younger it might be fine, but if you’re in your 60s like me, go in with low expectations.
Not what I was sold, but the support was okay
in a big radius in Scotland I only saw about 30 people come up, and once you take out the fakes and inactive profiles you’re left with almost nothing. Frustrating, really.
I did contact customer service and I’m actually glad they replied — fairly quickly and polite — but the help was mostly the usual “tweak your profile” stuff, not very useful. So I appreciated the response, but it didn’t fix the core problem, which was that the service didn’t deliver local, genuine matches. Compared to a couple of other places I’ve tried (Facebook Dating, for example, gave me more local options and it’s free), this felt quite sparse. I’ve cancelled auto‑renew and I’m muddling through the last month, more relieved than anything. If you want decent delivery of matches and proactive, solution‑focused customer service, I’d be cautious. If they improved the matching and were more honest about active users it could be alright — for now I’m left thankful they at least answered, but disappointed in what was actually delivered.Premium membership payment
I'm really disappointed in the service I've received so far. I thought it might help me find the right person, but it's been a letdown. At first, it all seemed good, but the more I used it, the more I realised I was being charged a lot for not much in return. The premium membership was especially pricey, and there were some unexpected fees that were never mentioned upfront. It's sad to see a company tricking people who just want to make real connections. I'd tell others to be careful and do lots of research before paying for anything on this platform.
Relationship matching service
I tried this dating service and it was such a let-down. I made my profile and then saw a load of random profiles added to my favourites list without me choosing them. I didn't even know I had a favourites list on my profile, so it was annoying to see profiles I wasn't even interested in. It felt like they were pretending I liked things I didn't, to make it seem like I used the app more. I didn't like not being able to see or control who was in my favourites list. It left me feeling disappointed and frustrated.
Membership
Let me tell you about my experience with this dating site. I was really looking forward to using it, in the hope of making some real connections, but it turned out to be a big let-down. I had to pay quite a bit just to do their quiz, only to find that there weren't many active users on there. It felt like I kept seeing the same profiles over and over again. When I tried to cancel within the 14 days, they hit me with unexpected charges and made it really difficult to access my account. The customer service was terrible, they didn't seem to care at all about my situation. In the end, it was just a complete waste of my time, money, and patience.
Personality profile purchase
I had a really bad time with the company. They shut down my account just 3 days after I signed up and then asked me to pay more for some kind of personality test. The people they matched me with were awful and the whole thing was just terrible. I definitely wouldn't suggest creating an account with them.
Trap!
Don't make the same mistake I did. It's all a big waste of time and money. You won't even end up meeting anyone, plus they make it impossible to cancel your subscription, and then they just keep bombarding you with intimidating letters. Forget that place, find another one to use!
Thorough profile questions, good selection of dates
I really liked the variety and depth of the questions on this service - they gave me a really good insight into my profile. I also thought the selection of potential dates was top-notch, with a good mix that gave me plenty of options to connect with. Overall, I'd say this service did a great job of helping me find some really meaningful matches.
Match criteria and format
The matching criteria and format are great, they seem to work really well. I found some potential matches that match my interests and values. But, the price is quite high just to give it a go. I'd prefer it if there was a shorter 1-month option, especially for people who are new to online dating and are unsure if it's for them.
Initial subscription
I really wish I didn't decide to join a dating site, especially when I picked eHarmony. I had used it before with no problems, but it has definitely changed now. The basic features are all behind expensive paywalls, so even just trying it out turned out to be a costly mistake. I thought I was signing up for a monthly subscription, but it wasn't the high-quality service I was expecting. Trying to cancel was a nightmare, with hidden charges and really high fees for a report that seemed more about making money than helping people find love. If you're thinking about joining, my advice would be to avoid this total scam!
Dating site subscription
I decided to give that dating site a go, but it was absolute rubbish. They kept taking money from me even after I tried to cancel. I had to call my bank and argue the payments, but luckily I eventually got my money back. It was just so annoying to deal with all that hassle!
Simple setup
It was really easy to set up my profile - no hassle at all! The website was so user-friendly, guiding me through each step. But now comes the tricky part - connecting with potential matches.
Limited matches
I've been using this site for a while and I have to say, the choice of potential matches is really limited. I've been on here for a month now and I've only been shown a few options, most of which aren't really what I'm looking for. It's frustrating to keep seeing the same profiles over and over again, it feels like there's no new people to check out.
Online dating subscription
Hey, I joined because my cousin actually met his soulmate on here. But I'm a bit confused, where are all the matches? I've only had one so far. Is that it? Come on guys, let's see some more action!
Compatibility quiz purchase
The compatibility quiz on this site is absolutely useless. They don't tell you about the fee upfront, and the results are way off base. It's basically a scam preying on lonely people seeking love. Stay away, especially if you're a woman.
Matchmaking service
As a customer of this matchmaking service, I have to say that the customer service was just terrible. The representatives were not helpful at all and it seemed like all they cared about was getting my money rather than actually helping me find a good match. It felt dodgy right from the start, with them constantly pushing me to upgrade to expensive packages that didn't really offer much. I wouldn't advise anyone to use this service if they're looking for a real connection. Save yourself the trouble and steer clear of this company.
Time-wasting scam
This website is totally useless and feels like a rip-off. They hide details and the terms and conditions are way too long just to protect themselves. It's definitely a scam, and it wouldn't shock me if they got sued eventually. John Edwards was spot on in calling them out.
Successful match within 24 hours
I was a bit unsure about trying out online dating at first, but I changed my mind after hearing some success stories. So, I thought, why not give it a go? I signed up late one evening and to my surprise, I woke up the next day to find several messages waiting for me. One of those messages was from someone I accidentally liked twice, and we just clicked straight away. Now we're in a lovely, committed relationship all thanks to this dating platform. The only downside was that there weren't many options for flexible contracts or fees, but finding love made it all worth it in the end.
Online dating sign-up
So basically, I thought I'd give online dating a go and it was a complete disaster! The app was playing up big time, and when I tried to back out during the cooling-off period, they still charged me! Can you believe it? They then tried to say I had to pay for a whole year, and I reluctantly agreed, hoping to still be able to use it. But no, they insisted I pay again. I felt completely cheated and grossed out by the whole thing. Moral of the story - watch out and read every little detail before getting involved because those guys are sneaky!
