I never thought an electric toothbrush would become a small obsession. I needed something gentle after a nasty bout of gum inflammation last winter — my dentist insisted on a soft but effective brush. A friend gave me the Oclean X Ultra in April so I didn't buy it myself. At first it was lovely. Quiet. Clean feel. The brush head actually felt kinder on sore bits, which was a pleasant surprise. But the battery story is where it falls apart. Advertised life? Forty days. Reality after a few months? Five. Five days. That killed the convenience, the thing I bought into. Worse, it began switching modes on its own. One moment it's routine; next it's racing through settings like it's possessed. I tried customer support. Sent photos. Sent videos. Explained the warranty situation. And then silence. One reply suggested a 'demo mode' reboot — which was worth a try, but didn't fix a thing — and then nothing for weeks. I swapped chargers and reset it twice — you try everything. I phoned once and left a voicemail; still nothing. I get that electronics can fail. I don't mind tech hiccups. What bugs me is being ignored when you rely on a company's promise, especially with warranty law and all that. On the bright side the brush itself still cleans well. It felt unexpectedly gentle, and I did like the build. But trust matters. Support ruined it for me.
Mixed feelings, but glad I tried it
it didn’t meet expectations, but I’m glad I bought it. I ordered the Oclean X Ultra 20 set plus the Airpump A10 in January and used both every day for about four months. First impression: nice-looking kit. The toothbrush felt clever and the pump looked neat. That’s what sold me. Then reality kicked in. The air pump is just too firm. It isn’t soft at all despite the product blurb. You can change the frequency, yes, but not the actual softness, so it felt harsh and at one point irritated my gums. Not great. The toothbrush itself had promise with the AI tracking, but the data was unreliable. It often logged the wrong area and if I paused to check my status, the session ended and wouldn’t resume, so the whole tracking feature became useless. The travel case was annoyingly tight and actually scuffed the brush on first use. After a few months the brush started to fail too — an “excessive force” warning pops up and it shuts straight down. Customer service was okay, responsive but not very helpful. Delivery was fine and quicker than I expected, which I appreciated. Overall I learned something from the purchase and I’m glad it wasn’t worse, but I can’t recommend these products. I’ll stick with brands I trust next time.
