I'd been put off buying big items online for ages — too many dodgy sites — but a friend tagged me on Instagram and I finally took a look. I ordered the electric bike plus a handful of accessories, nervy the whole time. A day later the bike dropped in price and I assumed I'd missed out, so I messaged customer service. They reviewed my order, refunded the difference and that was that. Later, when a small accessory arrived cracked, I shot a quick video and emailed it; they replaced the part no questions, no extra charges. The bike rides smoothly, surprisingly comfortable, and seems well built. Not everything was perfect, but the handling of problems and simple fixes turned my scepticism into reluctant trust.
Strange start, happy ending
they didn't just send a hub, they shipped a whole rear rim ready to go, all the way from China. Slapped it on in under half an hour and it ran fine. So the shipping cost made sense after seeing what they sent.
I've since put about 160 miles on the bike — commuting, odd errands, the usual — and it feels sturdy, the motor is smooth now. It's too cold to ride at the moment but I’ll be piling on the miles this summer. I was sceptical at first, annoyed during the wait, but overall pleased with the outcome.Late-adopter thoughts
it had more shove than I expected, proper torque, and climbs that used to make me wince were suddenly easy. I weigh roughly 160 lb and cruising around 18 mph I was getting a solid feel of confidence from the bike — comfortable seating, neat lines, not fussy. So yes, my initial doubts about performance mostly evaporated pretty quickly. I did keep wondering about range though; the manufacturer talks up something like 80 miles but in real use I saw closer to 40-plus miles at that average speed. That’s not catastrophic, just realistic and worth noting. After maybe a year and a half the battery started acting up. It would shut the motor off when the display showed about 50% and then the bike wouldn't restart until I either charged it a bit or physically removed and reseated the pack. Annoying, especially when you’re part way through a ride. I contacted customer service — I’ll admit my expectations were low because I’d read mixed things — and there was a brief hiccup over warranty interpretation, nothing dramatic but a delay. We exchanged a few emails, I sent photos and a couple of short videos, and their diagnostics pointed to a circuit fault in the battery. They sent a replacement battery; I covered the postage, which I was happy to do. The whole CS interaction actually improved my view: Dory handled things politely and kept the process clear, so thumbs up there. One niggle that remains is the battery percentage display, which can be unreliable — showing twenty percent, then after a restart jumping to sixty. I get that load affects readings, but it should be steadier when you’re not drawing power. I’m now on the new battery and it hasn’t cut out abruptly like before; winter riding has been light so I’ll keep monitoring. Overall, I’m glad I bought it, pleased the service followed through, and the bike itself still feels powerful and comfy. So the doubts? Mostly gone, apart from the range and the display accuracy, which are worth knowing about.
