I nearly didn't buy this because the photos and spec looked a bit optimistic, but I went for it in July. Used it for a couple of weeks in August and at first it seemed fine — solid enough, a few creaks but nothing major. Then a part failed and I asked for a return. They only collected it months later, it arrived at their distribution centre on 5 October and since then I’ve been chasing a refund of over £400. Emails just stop getting replies now, which is frustrating and a bit draining. I’ve got screenshots of every message and I’m about to involve Citizens Advice and Trading Standards. I felt hopeful before buying; that’s definitely faded.
The parcel that ghosted me
I thought I was clever finding the deal, about two months ago I placed an order and was quite excited to try it. The website looked fine, no red flags. First week I was checking the tracking like a hawk. Then silence. They promised a refund via email within ten days. Ten days became another ten days. Replies dried up. Calls? No number. Emails? Crickets. I ended up raising a dispute with my credit card and looking into formal options, which is a faff. Also a weird redirect on their site sent me to a pill shop, which didn't inspire trust. Small bits of humour elsewhere, but overall avoid — not reliable and poor customer service.
That awkward relief
I was halfway through a round when the steering packed in, and that odd little lift of relief came when they finally agreed to take the buggy back. It felt like someone had acknowledged the problem, for once. Trouble is, that relief didn't last. Repairs came and went, it broke again, they said it was fixed, then it wasn't. After months of back and forth I ended up paying for hire buggies and chasing emails that never got answered. I did appreciate the extended warranty they added — that was unexpectedly decent — but by the time I got the machine back I'd spent a fortune and my patience. If you're thinking of buying from them, maybe push hard for a proper refund and keep receipts. Not what I expected from a supposedly professional seller.
Half-built, half-hearted service
brusque emails, promises of a Monday replacement that only turned up on Thursday, and not one phone call to explain. Once the part arrived and it was assembled the treadmill itself seems solid and I felt relieved, even a bit pleased. But the whole customer experience left a lot to be desired. If you, like me, buy kit for health reasons and want someone to actually care afterwards, I'd think twice. I mean, it felt a bit like doing flat-pack without all the screws — annoying but fixable.
Trampoline buyer's odd little saga
the return is on you. Cheapest quote I could find was about £70. I grumbled, went ahead out of stubbornness and yes, they refunded me once they got it back. That moment when the refund landed felt oddly satisfying, like proving a point. No extra compensation for the hassle though, even though the thing was returned immaculate and they can now resell it. Bit of a faff. Would’ve happily bought local if I’d known. Still, refund confirmed — small victory.
Mostly fine, with a small snag
the wheel hole was out of line compared with the other legs, so one half sat slightly skewed. Annoying, but not catastrophic. I emailed customer services and they were efficient about options — replacement parts or a refund — and I asked for the parts. They did say it would take time and it did: about two weeks. They replied promptly to my messages, usually the next day, so that was good. When the part arrived it fixed the alignment and the table has been fine for regular use since, though I did have to re-adjust and tighten a few bits myself — small faff. One downside: the delivery slot for the replacement came as a text the day before and couldn’t be changed when I rang, which threw my evening plans once. Overall, not perfect, a bit of bother at first, but the issue was handled well and now it does what we bought it for.
A slow turn from doubt to actually pleased
sit, lean, nudge a ball, chat. So I ordered a table from a retailer I’d seen online. I was cautious straight away, because, well, you know how these things go; online photos are one thing, reality another.
Treadmill purchase
I bought a treadmill from this company, but it broke after just a few months. When I tried to get in touch with customer service to either fix it or get a refund since it was still under warranty, the customer service I got was absolutely awful. I'd recommend staying away from this company.
Trampoline purchased
The package arrived quickly and in perfect condition. Putting it together was a bit tricky in some places, but I managed to figure it out with a bit of common sense and my previous experience building trampolines. It's possible to assemble it alone, but it does take more time. In the end, I'm happy with how it turned out and my kids are thrilled with it.
Olympic barbell and weights set
I decided to treat myself to an Olympic barbell and weights set because I wanted to give weightlifting a go like the pros at the gym. I was a bit nervous at first because I heard some negative things about this place, but my order process was smooth sailing! The barbell is top quality and the weights are just right for my strength training. The delivery guy even gave me a heads up call before dropping it off! I'm thrilled with my purchase, I now feel like a little weightlifting champion.
Multi gym missing stabilizers
I recently bought a multi gym from this company, and it's been a complete nightmare. When the gym arrived, I found out that there were 7 stabilizers missing, which meant that I couldn't put it together without risking damage to my floor. I tried emailing them and reaching out multiple times, but all I got in return was two failed deliveries and a new base unit that also had missing parts. The way they've handled the situation is just not on. If you want to avoid the stress of dealing with missing bits, I suggest looking for fitness equipment elsewhere. I'm now left with no other option but to ask for a full refund.
Spin bike purchase
I recently got myself a spin bike from UK Sport Imports and I have to say, I'm pretty happy with how it all went down. The delivery was surprisingly quick and the bike arrived just like they said it would. But, there were a couple of small issues that stopped me from giving it a perfect score. One of the pedal bolts was tough to remove because it was on really tight. Luckily, I managed to loosen it with some wrenches. Also, there's this occasional clicking noise when you pedal, which can be a bit annoying. Despite these little bumps in the road, I reckon the spin bike gives you good bang for your buck.
Trampoline 7x 11 Rectangle
The trampoline looked great but when we got it, there was a missing spring. Luckily, we managed to fix it pretty quickly. The worst part was putting together the rectangle support - the metal bars didn't fit properly and it took ages to assemble. My daughter isn't very pleased with how bouncy it is compared to her old trampoline, which was only slightly smaller. Also, the springs on the mat seem stretched out and the padding holds onto water, so my daughter ends up with wet socks.
Broken trampoline
I got given a trampoline by my grandparents, which was super exciting because I couldn't wait to bounce around and have fun. But then, as soon as I jumped on it, it started sinking inwards! Such a letdown, right? I told my parents and they got in touch with the store to either get a refund or a replacement. Can you believe what they said? They claimed it shouldn't have been set up if it was faulty. Like, how were we meant to know it was broken beforehand, obviously? There wasn't any visible damage while we were setting it up. Honestly, the customer service was just terrible.
Treadmill purchase
I was really impressed with the company I bought from - they were so quick at getting back to me and delivering my treadmill. Even with everything going on with lockdown, I got it just 2 days after ordering. The treadmill is brilliant, does the job perfectly. It is quite heavy, but once it's set up, it's really solid and works like a dream.
Spin bike purchased, damaged on arrival
I bought a spin bike from this company not too long ago and I have to say, I was really disappointed with the whole thing. The bike arrived pretty fast, which was good, but when I took it out of the packaging, it was all damaged. I sent an email straight away with photos of the damage, asking for a replacement. However, I didn't get any response at all. I tried emailing them loads of times the next day, but all my emails just got sent back to me. It's obvious now that this company isn't very trustworthy, especially after seeing other customers saying the same thing. I've had to get my credit card company involved in the hope of getting my money back. My advice would be to steer clear of this place - it's a total rip-off.
Barbell and weight set purchase
Alright, so I was pumped to get this awesome barbell and weight set to get all superhero strong. But man, the delivery was a complete nightmare! I was eagerly waiting for it to arrive the next day, but it never showed up and no one was picking up the phone or responding to my emails. My son was really bummed out because it was supposed to be a gift for him. 😭
Tennis table purchase
I bought a table tennis set from this company, and I'm really disappointed with what happened. When it arrived, it came in two boxes with parts from different tables, and it was so frustrating trying to sort it all out. I tried to contact customer service several times, but I still haven't got the refund they promised. This kind of service is just not on, so now I'll have to get someone else involved to get my money back. I wouldn't recommend dealing with this company at all because of their bad products and service.
Exercise equipment purchase
I recently bought some exercise equipment from UK Sport Imports and I have to say, I was really impressed with the whole experience. The quality of the product was top-notch and the price was really good too. The communication from the company was quick and easy to understand, which made ordering a breeze. The delivery arrived on time and the courier service they used was both efficient and professional. All in all, I'm really happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend UK Sport Imports to others.
Trampoline purchase
The instructions that came with the trampoline I bought weren't very helpful. The numbers on the diagram didn't match up with the actual corners, so it was pretty confusing and took longer than expected to put it all together. However, after a bit of trial and error, I managed to set it up successfully. The size and shape of the trampoline are fine, but I was a bit let down by the quality of the product. It felt like it was put together just as well as other, much cheaper trampolines I've come across. Also, the coating on the legs chips off pretty easily, which is a bit annoying. All in all, I wouldn't say it was worth the money I shelled out for it.
