I wasn't planning on turning into a watch critic yesterday, but there I was, prodding a parcel like it might confess its sins. The picture online promised a proper navy face; what arrived could generously be called "bluish-ish" — more like someone rinsed it in the sink. The strap bent like rubber, not leather, and the buckle felt flimsy, catching on my shirt cuff and giving me a small, miserable pinch the first time I put it on. It sat on my wrist almost apologetically, too light, and when I tapped the glass the movement sounded hollow — more toy than timepiece. You know how real watches have a bit of weight, a confidence? This one had none.
Unexpected turnaround on a dodgy-feeling order
I was halfway sure I'd been had the minute the app told me the parcel was delivered — and there was nothing at my flat. I’d been dithering before I even clicked buy, because the item was pricey and the seller (Yang Q / yuqiawoxian) didn’t have loads of reviews. That little voice saying “scam?” was loud. So I bought it with a knot in my stomach and then, predictably, panic when the app marked it as received just from me checking the status. Classic.
A pile of parcels and mixed feelings
wool jumpers, a couple of coats, and some trainers. In reality the things I pulled out felt like cheap knock-offs most of the time — thin fabric that didn’t feel like wool at all, flimsy lining that creased instantly, colours that looked slightly wrong when you held them up to daylight. The trainers looked the part in photos but, honestly, the sole was soft and the stitching came undone after a week. Small things, but they make the product feel low-end, not like the real thing.
Using the items was a mixed bag. Some jumpers are fine for garden work or an evening dog walk; they’re soft enough, they wash okay, they don’t fall apart straight away. Others pill, or the seams split where you wouldn’t expect it, and one coat leaked from the lining when it rained — which felt ridiculous. Tags were missing on half the things I got (I know new stuff usually has tags), and a couple had a faint glue smell that you notice the first time you put them on. That smell fades, but it’s off-putting. The fit was hit-and-miss: sizes are not consistent so you do need to expect it won’t be perfect.
Customer service was where I felt most frustrated. When things were clearly not as described I took photos and sent them — sometimes the response was slow, sometimes they admitted the item wasn’t right, and then offered a partial refund. That partial refund approach meant I was left with stuff I couldn’t really sell on or wear proudly, and I felt a bit cheated. Returning items? Nearly impossible. I tried to arrange returns on a couple of occasions and gave up; the process felt opaque and time-consuming, and live help was rarely helpful.
Having said that, not everything was dreadful. A cardigan I bought actually surprised me: decent weight, warm, and I wear it a lot. So there’s a tiny sliver of satisfaction in there — now and then you find something that keeps its shape and looks okay. Overall I’m mildly sceptical still, but less furious than at first. If you’re after cheap bits for casual use and don’t mind the risk — a punt might pay off. If you expect consistent quality or reliable returns, don’t hold your breath.Overpriced and problematic purchases
I can't believe the hassle I've had with these purchases. First off, the tracking numbers they gave me were bogus, so I had no clue where my stuff was. And then, to top it all off, they had the nerve to try and get me to buy more things without even sending what I'd already paid for. It feels like a total scam and a real waste of my time and cash. I'll definitely be more careful about buying from this site in the future.
Sparkly dress
Oh my gosh, I ordered this really adorable glittery dress back in March for my best friend's birthday bash, and it still hasn't shown up! Seriously, what's going on? I've reached out to the seller twice, but all I'm getting back are these automated, robotic-sounding replies. I was really hoping to look amazing for the party, but now I'm left with no dress. It's so disappointing. 😞

I shop on DHGate quite a lot and overall I've been pretty happy with what I've bought. The stuff I've ordered has been good quality and the prices are not bad at all. Only problem I've had is one order didn't show up and I couldn't find the order number to sort it out. It wasn't a huge amount of money though, so not the end of the world. Generally, I'm happy with what I've got from DHGate and will keep shopping there.
Online shopping experience
I've just had a really rubbish time shopping online on this site. Honestly, it's full of dodgy sellers, scammers, and people you just can't rely on. A lot of the good reviews seem fake, probably made by bots. On the other hand, places like AliExpress and Alibaba are way more honest and open about what they're doing. They sort out scam problems straight away, which DHGate doesn't seem to do.
Recent purchases
I just ordered some stuff online and I wanted to talk about it. I got a few things, but only one arrived. I tried getting in touch with customer service, but they haven't replied to my emails. And on top of that, my account has been unexpectedly closed, so now I can't even get in touch with anyone to fix this. It's really annoying!
Fashion accessories
I recently bought some fashion accessories on DHGate and had a bit of a nightmare. The seller didn't send my item, even though they said they did, which started a long and annoying dispute. I gave DHGate plenty of proof that the seller was up to no good - they were using fake tracking numbers and lying about when my stuff would arrive. But DHGate didn't really step up to help sort things out. In the end, I had to get my credit card company involved to get my money back. It was a huge hassle and really stressful. If DHGate had better safeguards against dodgy sellers, this whole mess could have been avoided.
My new shoes
I am absolutely thrilled about my new shoes from DHGate! They look even better in real life than they did in the pictures online. I can't wait to show them off to all of my friends. The quality is outstanding and they fit perfectly. I will definitely be purchasing more items from this website in the future.
Women's shoes
I bought a pair of women's shoes from DHGate not long ago but they never turned up. I had to go through the hassle of opening a dispute to get my money back. It was a bit of a pain, to be honest. But at least I eventually got my refund, which I'm grateful for. The process of disputing the transaction was far from easy. The website's dispute page was confusing and made me question if I had done it right. I usually shop on my laptop, so I can only imagine how annoying it must be to deal with all that on a smartphone.
Sweatshirt for my daughter's b-day
I ordered a sweatshirt for my daughter's birthday back in April, but it still hasn't shown up even after waiting for 2 months. I attempted to get a refund, but had no luck reaching customer service. My advice would be to avoid ordering from here!
Shoes
I'm really not happy with the shoes I bought from DHGate. I ordered size 39 but got sent a much smaller size instead. The return process has been a real pain as they want the cheapest option, which is a bit dodgy and needs the post office to write a letter stating why they can't deliver to China. It's a ridiculous request that no one has time for. The customer service reps I've spoken to have been unhelpful and not on the same page, with one of them even fibbing about the return process. All in all, it's been a frustrating experience and I won't be shopping with them again.

Product - never arrived
I'm really unhappy with the service I've received. My order never arrived and even after I raised a dispute with the seller, they assured me of a refund which still hasn't been processed. It's been a whole month now and I'm still without my money. The seller has now closed the dispute and I can't seem to get in touch with customer service, they just keep telling me to contact my bank. This whole situation feels like a scam to me.
Misleading item received
I bought something from DHGate and got the wrong item. I got in touch with customer service and they only offered me a $10 refund, which I think is not fair considering the mistake. I'll keep you updated on how this all turns out.
Shoes purchase
I wasn't sure about ordering from this site at first, but I decided to take a chance and bought some really nice shoes. The quality turned out to be even better than I expected and I'm very happy with what I got. However, I did find the website a bit difficult to use and the updates on my order weren't always spot on. Caps purchase
I recently bought some caps from a seller on DHGate and I was pretty disappointed with how they were packaged. Basically, they just chucked them in a bag and sent them off, resulting in one cap arriving smashed and the other not arriving at all. I get that not all sellers on DHGate are like this, but this experience has really let me down and I'm feeling frustrated. It's really important for DHGate to step up their game and make sure packages are properly protected to stop this kind of thing happening. Recent account access issue
I've been having some trouble trying to get into my account on this website recently. It's really affecting my ability to keep track of what I've bought before and to talk to the people who sold me stuff. I've generally had a good time with this company, but this current problem is really getting me down. When I tried to log in through Facebook, it sent me to this new account I don't recognise, and now I can't see my past purchases, track my orders, or ask for refunds anymore. And on top of that, I haven't heard anything back from the customer service team about the help tickets I've sent in, which is making me even more frustrated and unsure about what to do next.
Clothing item
I'm really disappointed with my recent purchase from DHGate. I paid quite a bit for some clothes, but when the parcel arrived, all it had was bubble wrap! I got in touch with customer service straight away to ask for a refund or replacement, but it didn't go well. Trying to dispute the decision was way too difficult, and even though I showed proof, I still didn't get a good outcome. I feel like I've been scammed and I'm not happy with DHGate's service at all.
